Not long ago, I was standing there. Looming in front of me were the great gates of the hanger. It was the day that I would be reunited with my father. The perfect formation they held as they exited the aircraft and marched out into the runway was astounding. All wore their fatigues with the patch of the american flag; a symbol of charging forward. Always forward. True Patriotism. The American Flag, beautiful: red, white, and blue. Symbolic of our freedom and soldiers who have died to protect our rights and liberties that we Americans have. Patriotism is cultural attachment to one's homeland and devotion to one's country. Patriotism, the strong love, joy, and support for one’s country. They give up their freedoms so others may live. They have vigorous support for their country, and bear arms against any enemy no matter what the cost. Soldiers are patriotic because no matter where they are they will endlessly love their home country. Patriots are devoted. Soldiers are nationalist, for they have strong feelings of patriotism for their country, and believe in defending it no matter what. For one to be patriotic, one must be truly supportive of our country. Soldiers are true nationalists to our country, and America would cease to exist, without these brave men and women. In the end, patriotism is not just one who holds up a flag in reverence for their country. Nor is he a person who screams their countries name. No, patriotism comes from standing up and saying, “I will defend you, and if I die today then I will still love you.” Patriotism is giving all you have, for the well being of others, and so that others may live. Only a man of vigorous action can show true
