Health conditions of stray dogs has been reducing as each day passes.Still there are few organisations and societies which take necessary actions to support and accommodate stray dogs and also treat their sickness just to improve their health condition and living environment.
Stray dogs lives on street or in localities and slums where they rely on unhygienic wastage generated by the people of that area. Many a times they do not get enough food to eat and hence most of them are malnourished.Local area behaviour is also a matter of concern as only few people treat them friendly and rest as a nuisance. They are also subjected to inhumane methods such as poisoning and beating.Hit and run cases is a common scenario which mostly affects small puppies.Inappropriate

But it has to be ensured that these strays are also treated well and a proper medical and living condition is provided to them including animal vaccinations and treatments at regular intervals by certified veterinarians appointed by municipal corporations.Without any proper medical attention and food provisions stray dogs tend to become restless too in some cases leading to dog bites which basically affects human population.
Presence of a dog in a locality also creates a sense of security as dogs are proven to be very loyal animals. Thus dogs shall definitely be treated the way they deserve to be a part of our ecosystem.Rats and mice around us are afraid of dogs hence they are hidden.if someone is not comfortable with stray dog troubling them is not an option showing humanity towards them will only benefit us.Dogs protect the locality they stay in and can be a good protector from thieves.Dogs are the most honest and loyal animal they never harm unless provoked.Treating them with kindness and love is their

There is no law that prohibits feeding of street animals, and every individual should do so as their basic duty.Persons who are trying to interfere with their effort, or display aggression, can be held liable for having committed the offence described in the Indian Penal Code and criminal intimidation.
Dog shelters and dog nursing homes are to be formed in more numbers to accommodate thousands of stray dogs. Organizing and volunteering with NGOs in their feeding program is a good way to contribute for street dogs.Animal Welfare should be included as a subject in schools.
Children can be taught about how to behave with stray dogs.Donating to NGOs is another good option if someone can’t be a part on their own.Being friendly and caring with them is best way to show them compassion.
As an individual you can do the following more things:
- If you can't provide shelter to strays, the least you can do is keep fresh water in a shady area around your house for them to rest in. You could even go the extra mile and sprinkle the area with some water so it is cool.
- Strays, especially dogs have it hard when it comes to finding food. Instead of throwing your leftovers into the bin, at least save some rotis or rice for
Hundreds of thousands of puppies are raised each year in commercial kennels (Puppymills Breed Misery). Puppy mills keep breed stock in horrible conditions for their short lives and produce unhealthy puppies with many issues. Not only are they committing “inhumane care,” but puppy mills are responsible for customer fraud. Many puppy mills are small and contain about twenty breeding dogs in basements, garages, or sheds “in cages stacked to the roof.” The dogs will stay in those cages without “exercise or sunlight.” Also, the dogs have two “litters” a year till about the age five. Other puppy mills contain hundreds of breeding dogs. The operators keep the puppies in “relative darkness” so the puppies seldom cry or draw attention. The dogs in puppy mills rarely receive medical attention. The females are dissipated because of the never-ending period of “producing and nursing litters.” Most dogs have “chronic ailments, rotten teeth, and ear, eye, and skin infections.” Many of the puppies purchased from puppy mills are un-healthy and not well-adjusted. The puppies have a high prevalence of hereditary syndromes and illnesses, and difficulties that occurs following the “purchase.” After the females cannot produce anymore liters...
Dogs can help children cross the street, lead the blind, alert the deaf, and they do so much more. Many of times, an adult might focus on the problem that doesn’t need requirements. An adult might focus on the problem that a child is socially disabled and by focusing on this problem, they may not even see how this child is trying to cross a busy street or might be trying to talk to someone that they shouldn’t. A service dog prevents the child from going out of sight and many of times can lead a child out of danger or avoid it in the first place.
Also, educating parents and grandparents etc, on animal/ children safety could greatly reduce the number of attacks on children. You should never leave a young child unattended with a dog, or any animal for that matter, its just not safe. Children that have been attacked by family dogs that have been around said child its whole life, tend to be the results of the child being left alone with the dog and not properly supervised, not nasty or mean dogs. Any dog could snap and turn on somebody, esp a child who say, doesn’t realize the dog is in pain and jumps on them etc. As long as dogs and childrens interactions are supervised many dangerous situations can be avoided.
Backyard breeders do not follow any guidelines in order to prevent these serious conditions from occurring. They do not carry out property inspections to ensure that the offspring are in a secure environment which does not put them in danger. Due to these issues many dogs, various ages are often abandoned and neglected by their so called owners who purchase them from backyard breeders. In most circumstances the cycle of backyard breeding then
Dogs are being taken for granted, and people need to realize the importance of why they have dogs as pets. Dogs are more than lazy animals, dumb creatures, or ways of showing off to others. Dogs don’t help with social status, rather they help with companionship, loyalty, trust, and a bodyguard. In my opinion, dogs don’t help determine how poor or wealthy a family is. Maybe people spend lots or little money on a dog, but that just depends on what type of people they are, not what type the dog is. Nothing more, nothing less.
Having a dog can be a great experience for people who enjoy their company. These animals are usually friendly and active; they are intelligent and can develop a strong relationship with their owners based on love and care. However, having dogs is a big responsibility for the person who owns them, because they are animals, so they cannot support themselves. Dogs need someone who can feed them, give them love, and someone who can help them exercise. Moreover, these animals need big spaces in order to run and develop their muscles, so the owner has to know that he needs to take a walk with the dog several times a day.
A pack of dogs is playing in a ditch which is in the middle of a busy road. Some people in the cars look to see if the dogs' owner is nearby and wonder why anyone would allow their dogs to play so close to danger. Some drivers seem oblivious to the motley assortment romping in the water next to the road. They all keep driving without another thought for the safety or lives of those poor creatures. Unfortunately, this is a common scene in many areas. Unwanted dogs and cats are dumped to fend for themselves because there just are not enough homes for all of them. Where have these unwanted animals come from? The huge population is attributed to out of control breeding due to irresponsible owners, breeding by owners solely for profit without care for the health of their animals and the pet population, and puppy mills or commercial breeding.
How many of us have seen stray animals around? How many of us have been affected by stray animals in a negative fashion? To help get a good idea on what pet overpopulation is and how it's a problem, some ideas need to be explored. We need to know the major factors behind pet overpopulation and cause it to perpetuate. We need to know pet overpopulation's larger, over reaching effects and the scale of the problems pet overpopulation causes. Lastly, we need to know what has been done and what could be done to help stem the tide of the problem known as pet overpopulation. Just to show how big of a problem pet overpopulation is there is an estimated 70 million stray cats in America alone. ("Pet statistics") That should be a sobering number on how
Countless lives locked away in cages and forgotten about have overwhelmed our society, it has left blood stains on our history as a species and if history has taught us anything, it’s that we have a choice to change our ways of adjusting to situations. A war which was fought in pursuit of ending such criminal means, yet we as human beings do little to nothing to end the horrific crimes of animal deaths in shelters. It is no secret that this world has become infused with problems that have extended from one side of the globe to the other. Amongst these problems lies a terrible truth: nearly every year, sums of almost eight million cats and dogs have been placed in shelters around the world. Out of these vast numbers, half will be euthanized; that equals to one animal being put down every 8 seconds. Animals that are not adopted are kept in shelters until they find a home. Most of these shelters do not have enough space or resources to care for the animal. Only 15% of dogs and 2% of cats that enter animal shelters are reunited with their owners. The majority of pets are obtained from acquaintances and family members. Twenty-six percent of dogs are purchased from breeders, 20 to 30 percent of cats and dogs are adopted from shelters and rescues, and 2 to 10 percent are purchased from pet shops. In addition, only 56% of dogs and 71% of cats that enter animal shelters are euthanized. The 10% of the animals received by shelters have been spayed or neutered, while 78 percent of dogs and 88 percent of cats are not spayed or neutered, in 2009 Statistics from animal shelters in 55 counties in WV (West Virginia) shows that nearly 54% of all animals entering shelters are euthanized, The euthanasia rates ranged from the lowest at 5% to the highe...
According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 7.6 million companion pets enter animal shelters across the United States each year, nearly evenly disrupted between dogs and cats . These animals are abandoned for reasons including families no longer being able to care for them (sickness/death of an owner), to families not wanting them (the novelty wearing of the animal wearing off), to the animals being born into puppy mills to finally animals that are loved being lost from their owners. These animals do not understand what is happening to them and rely on the kindness of humans to provide for them in shelters until their forever home can be found.
Although not all humans treat animals badly, we should still attempt to educate as many people as we could about animal cruelty. Animal cruelty does not only affect animals, it affects humans as well. Animals that are abused tend to be aggressive or traumatized and these animals can lash out at any human at any given time. This is a danger towards people, especially little children. Children should be educated from their early ages so that our next generation will treat animals kindly and stop animal cruelty. There are some people who care deeply about animals, and we all should aim to be like those people. These people set up animal shelter and rescue centers to give abandoned animals a home. I believe this is a fantastic thing to do because research shows that animals are much more happy and healthy when they have a proper home rather than being surrounded by so many other animals in the shelter. Animals should not be caged up because they need to be free. There is a viral video on the internet that shows an angora bunny being tortured by having its feathers plucked out one by one. This is one of the worst forms of animal cruelty. Have you ever heard of the dog ass Man’s Best
Responsibilities for dogs come in all different forms, but these are just a couple of ways that I have to specifically take care of my dog. Dogs make great companions, can be assistance dogs and help people with disabilities, and even protect a household. Hearing dogs can be the ears for a person that is hard of hearing, seeing dogs can be the eyes for someone who is legally blind, and service dogs can be an alert system for someone with epilepsy. Although, these dogs are put through a lot of special training for a specific need. More often than not, an assistance dog is adopted but also donated to someone who is handicapped.
Dogs are wonderful creatures. They are loyal, dependable companions if given the opportunity. In recent years I have come to the opinion that we could learn something from these animals. We should also take a look at the manner in which they are being treated. Abandonment, irresponsible breeding, and neglect are only some of the ways that humans are failing the canine species.
In this report, we want to lead people to realize about the problem of stray animals and its effects on human beings, and how we can save them. We are going to explain about what experts have to say about this problem, what they think the solutions are, and also how better animal lives can benefit human beings.
Stray animals are dangerous reason being is children or elderly people can be bit while walking or playing around at parks. I live in Mercedes and at one point when I was walking from stars to the high school, and stray dog for no reason started growing at me and my instinct was to run until I got the a building. This can happen to anyone, they can be attacked trying to touch a stray or just simply walking by, or even worse a child can catch a disease. Also owners with their pets are also getting attacked by stray animals because they strays tend to be over protective of their territory, or they just want to fight with the pet of the owner.
