The term “sociological imagination” is what everyone should come to comprehend and practice. Sociological imagination is the awareness to understand how our personal factors is shaped and ties into a larger social structure. Some may say that sociological imagination is a state of mind, I agree. Having a good sense of sociological imagination is important because it helps us see things for what things truly are rather than what we believe it is. It helps us as a society to be less misunderstood and more understanding of why certain things happen; if society as a whole were to have a good sense of sociological imagination it would probably bring more peace. I have several different social factors that have helped shape me into being the young woman I am today. As I grow, I know my sociological imagination will improve but as of now I do believe I have a good sense of sociological imagination. Most of my social factors are how they are because of my other social factors. Although social imagination doesn’t answer for all problems, it is still a great concept to grasp and have throughout life.
