“All in one rhythm” is the official slogan of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which seeks the unity of people from all around the world through soccer. I cannot wait until this summer when the universe’s biggest soccer festival begins. Steven Gerrard, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Lionel Messi are the world's best soccer players with outstanding abilities. At the same time, they achieved a great success in life by devoting themselves to soccer. They are so popular that even those who do not follow soccer may have heard of these names. Soccer is more than just another sport to them and me as well, which resembles our life and gives us important principles of life. Basically, dribbling, passing, and shooting are three fundamental skills used in soccer. First, dribbling determines the initial direction and velocity of the ball. A dribbler must race as fast as he or she can when opponents block the path to the goalpost, but needs to control the speed of the ball more carefully if any of them try to steal it nearby. Surprisingly, this …show more content…
Even if a team has many players with superior strengths and skills, it can be defeated in any game. Actually, the result of the game is determined by the players' endeavor, will, and diligence, not by their objective capabilities. Did the players above achieve great success due to their innate talent? Yes, it might have affected, but I think their constant efforts did more than that. For example, Ronaldo arrives at the stadium and starts his training earlier than any other players in Real Madrid. Messi said that he has trained himself not to detach the ball from the ground while dribbling to overcome his disadvantage of short height. They probably understood the philosophy of soccer and its association with life already. Therefore, one can achieve any results regardless of natural backgrounds as long as he or she really strives for
Foer vowed to show us how the game of soccer can impact different regions and cultures. He indicated us how these relationships (between different nations and beliefs), while there, are hard to apprehend on the global scale. But trough soccer, these relationships reveal themselves in a hesitant fashion.
Franklin Foer the author of How Soccer Explains the World: An Unlikely Theory of Globalization is an important contributor of the small topic of the how soccer is related to the world. Foer from the New Republic who writes from time to time in the well known newspaper of the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal had traveled around the world especially the continent of Europe, Asia, North and South America. Going from the topic of why the Islam religion, Islamic law, and religious paramilitary militia prohibits the passionate, die-hard Islamic women fans; from attending and/or watching soccer games and then partying hard like the men after the game if their country or favorite club wins. To the topic of how America relates to soccer when the middle class accepted this sport because of the little violence that they thought the sport contained and to how some Americans support writers such as Tom Weir from USA Today’s “that hating soccer is more American than apple pie, driving a pickup, or spending Saturday afternoons channel surfing with the remote control” (Foer 240). The majority of Americans that support this quote are the lower class, liberals, majority of sports reporters, and narrow minded Americans. These topics and/or chapters really show how soccer is creating more globalization around the world especially with Islamic women getting rid of their traditions and trying new things such as showing their passion for soccer. In addition, America is trying to pass its apple pie and watching American Football on a Sunday to watching beautiful game of soccer. How Soccer Explains the World: An Unlikely Theory of Globalization is really divided into three groups; the first being the rivalries between clubs and human beings, sec...
The whole world comes together for the World Cup, a finals championship tournament for every country's team to compete to see who will be the winner. Even old people enjoy watching this game. According to Dictionary.com, soccer is defined as a 'form of football played between two teams of 11 players, in which the ball may be advanced by kicking or by bouncing it off any part of the body, except the arms and hands. However, in the case of the goalkeepers, they may use their hands to catch, carry, throw, or stop the ball.' There are no complex rules. No touching the ball only kicking. You have to get the ball into the goal to score a point. There also half times and out of bounds, but it's simple to understand. The competition is what I enjoy the most. I feel the rush of adrenaline shoot through me as I carry the ball down the field, and the other players trying to take it away from me.
After four years of a new team every season, I went into my first practice of my fifth soccer season expecting the same to be true. Play on this team for one year and then be randomly placed on a different one the following year. Little did I know this team, especially the coaches, would leave a lasting impact on my life. I gained an invaluable support system that has stuck by my side for an upwards of nine years.

Brazilian futebol, or soccer, has reached international stardom because of its history consisting of ground breaking teams, revolutionary players, and winning performances in competitive tournaments.
Soccer the most popular sport in the world, since is the sport with more active players with around 270 million athletes. By having registered so many players, it’s not surprising that this sport has more fans than any other sport worldwide. Every team looks for a player that moves the ball, and that creates plays to score. This means a person that pass the ball through the entire game. To pass the ball in a proper way is one of the main skills a player needs to play soccer. Passing the ball, keeps the game going. Without being able to pass the ball accurately to your teammates, more than likely your team won’t be able to score a goal. The key for passing is to keep things simple. This means passing the ball to your nearest teammate that is not marked by an opponent.
Growing up in El Salvador, soccer was a sport that significantly impacted my childhood. My cousins and uncles taught me how to play soccer, as well as various techniques that would later benefit me on the soccer field. At the age of seven I started to play for one of most well-known soccer clubs in El Salvador. Practicing twenty three hours a week was really paying off, as I could see in my medal and trophy gain. Not only did they represent my accomplishments, but they also gave joy to my teammates, community, and family because they were the people who encouraged me to give my best. Playing soccer was also a way to release stress because when my family was going through hardships, it was easier for me to let all of my negative energy on the
Soccer is a sport that is all about motion and how to use movements most effectively. Speed and velocity are very important when it comes to motion because with out them there would be no motion. When playing soccer speed is essential to being a productive player. The game is fast paced and so the players must also be quick on their feet. Soccer players may not know that velocity is essential to being able to control their movements. But physics proves that both are essential to soccer. Speed and direction are b...

Thirty-two teams, sixty-four games, eight groups of four, years of qualifying and one world champion. With the United States growing diverse every day, soccer player bring their influences along. Everyone can play the game but you must be a hard worker to overcome the odds of physical deficiency. One of the most skillful players in the world today is Lionel Messi. He is so profound with the ball and he is an inspiration for everyone that watches him. Lionel Messi would be a great endorser for Campbell Chunky Soup. He has won FIFA world player of the year four times (a record already). He has won just about everything there is to win in soccer. Pele and Maradona are considered by many to be the best players ever to the game. It is not an exaggeration to say that Messi has the claim a position alongside these players in soccer's pantheon of greats (Coggin). As a matter of fact, He had been described as Diego Maradona's successor because of his prolific goal scoring record and ability to dribble past challengers. a ball but He is a technical genius with a low center of gravity and pace who can break down any defense off the dribble and raise something out of nothing. He struggles when used as a striker and prefers playing out wide and cutting in on his left foot.(ESPN)
Soccer is a game where it would take time to learn and accept the game. There are many rules to understand and heartbreaks to endure. But if we looked at the game as a whole, we would understand that the game is truly like all others. It’s a game that binds people together and brings peace to parts of the world. For many it is a way of life, and people go to their church, temple or mosque every Saturday or Sunday and even during the week. If Americans gave this game a chance, it would possibly become the most popular game in every nation. But until then, Soccer will need to take time to catch on. Only then can the world most popular sport truly become the Beautiful Game.
It was my first football game. I never considered myself a big football person--I used to think football wasn’t for me. I’d always been a timid, gentle person, who didn’t seem to possess the qualities a football player should have; I wasn’t very competitive, or aggressive, or intimidating. Yet, although I knew I didn’t represent the average football player, I felt in this moment as if I were one. All of my attention was on one thing--walking out of this stadium celebrating a win with my teammates.
