So everyone in the world wonders why people have rules, but there are many reasons that we have rules and you need to know the know the importances of rules. Some people in the world already have rules and a book called Bud Not Buddy can tell you how how you can use certain rules can help you thrive. So Bud not Buddy is a book written by Christopher Paul Curtis, and Bud the main character has lots of rules he lives by, some helps him others get him stung but there are three rules that help him be successful and that can probably make you thrive too!In Bud, Not Buddy, Bud’s rules help him thrive, and three examples of those rules are #118, #29, and #39.

In chapter 19 page 219 Bud says “The Older You Get, the Worse Something Has to Be to Make You Cry”.This helps Bud thrive because he knows that Herman E Calloway is crying for something big and he is not crying because Bud is his grandson, so Bud can go and help him.This can also help him because i future times if he sees an adult crying he can go help them just like he did to Calloway.This is why rule 39 can help bud understand when adults need help and how he can use it for other things.

Rule #29 helped Bud because he wakes up not knowing where he is and he stays asleep and he collects a little bit of info about what is going on and where he is, this is how this helped Bud thrive.
Rule #39 this rule has helped Bud because when he saw that his uncle was crying he knew that he wasn't crying for anything small thing he knew it was big so he went and helped his uncle and gave him a hand during his hard time this is how Bud rule helped him thrive.These are ways rules can help Bud thrive, but now I will show how you how rules can help you
The book begins with Bud being in an orphanage. Bud is later given to the Amos family. During his stay in the Amos house, Bud gets bullied by Todd Amos. Bud and Todd get into a fight. Bud is blamed, so he gets put into the family shed. He escapes. Bud later comes back and puts Todd’s hand in warm water. Todd pees on himself because of it than Bud leaves. Bud than leaves permanently and brings pictures of his mom. In one picture he sees a jazz band named the “The Dusky Devastators of the depression.” He also sees their leader and his name is Herman E. Overall the book Rulemaking was an easy, informative read. It wasn't as dry as most administrative texts and was not loaded down with case after case written in legalese and complicated to follow. Chapters 1, 2, 3 and 7 will get you all the understanding that you need out of the text. It is highly recommended that the reader skim the other three chapters and read any cases/interviews contained within.

Buddy’s sense of right from wrong is strong to begin with, thanks to a foundation in the Boy Scouts and idolization of the Wonderful Weiner man. At the tender age of nine Buddy is a proud member of the Boy Scouts, but his troop is a typical set of third-grade bullies. While waiting for the Weiner Man, the troop picks on a mentally-challenged boy, but a nerdy member of the troop protests. His protest is followed by Buddy’s request to “Leave him alone”; this shocks his troop out of bullying the boy (Perrotta 7). This small act of standing up for Kazoo shows that Buddy is compassionate and knows right from wrong; but this act is comical and ironic because immediately following his righteous defense, he lets his troop beat up the nerd without saying a word. Parents often wonder where their toddlers and grade-schoolers get their astounding amounts of energy. It is an inexplicable phenomena that nearly every person witnesses. Perhaps people’s attitudes determine how energetic they are. Maybe our thought process is what determines whether we are up for 14 hours a day or 18. Is it because we believe limitations exist that they do? Without the mentality that we have a finite amount of energy, would we be able to go without rest for days on end? Despite barriers of impossibilities, men have visited the moon, probes are being sent to the outer reaches of the galaxy and the inner workings of atoms start to reveal their inner workings. Even the code of life itself begins to give up its secrets. The human race has come far in attaining what was once thought to be impossible. In her story “Come On, Wagon,” Zenna Henderson takes the idea of possible and impossible and questions what they mean and how limitations are created.
However, three ethical decisions that this learning will make after viewing the film is to always assist individual to the best of your ability, despite personal issues with loved ones or friends; next, always report crimes, no matter the consequence they may have; and last but not least, stand up for what’s right, even if it leads to misfortune. The pros of each of these decisions is peace within yourself. However, one of the cons is dealing with negative pressures. For example, when you report a crime, you may be summoned to court, and have to deal with the negative criticism.

Social norms are really important to our society’s functioning. If certain norms were not followed it is almost certain chaos would ensue. Not only do we follow social norms in order to prevent chaos, we also follow them to avoid the consequences of not following them, especially if the functional perspective is accurate. On occasion though, breaking subtle norms that we may not think about often can prove to have interesting results.
By interacting with people throughout our lifetime we develop these ideas or rules that we follow. These rule are known as social norms and they are what we follow in day to day life sometimes with not even realizing it. With the elevator example we can see a situation that has rules, but maybe some people view them differently. Some people feel open and free to talk with a stranger as the ride together, others believe that the only communication should be tell someone what floor you need. These are rules that you learn for observation, but can be changed and modified through other interactions. There is one main life lesson that I use all the time. And it is, to never be a quitter, because being a quitter is worse than losing. Being a quitter is even worse than being a loser. Cause, who would want to be called a quitter their whole life. I would rather spend extra time trying to get it down and done, then be a quitter.
