Without weapons there would not even be a revolutionary war. Weapons were very essential for both sides of the war, but mainly America’s side because without weapons we would not have gained our independence. Without weapons how could you kill the enemy? I will be talking about different weapons used in the Revolutionary war and how the specifically worked Such as: long range rifles, the sabre, the musket, pistols, and cannons. I will also be talking about how they benefits in the revolutionary war. I will also talk about war tactics.
The flintlock musket was the weapon used the most in the revolutionary war. The flintlock musket was the most essential weapon used in the revolutionary war. This was the primary weapon for multiple soldiers. This gun was very long it was about five feet and it weighed about nine pounds. The downfall to having this gun though was the fact that it only shot one shot at a time. After each shot the soldiers had to put gun powder in the barrel. What held the flint were two jaws, when the flint hit the frizzen it would create a spark. When the spark was created it would make the powder react, which made the

Since it took so long for the soldiers to load the flintlock musket the enemy used this to their advantage. The bayonet gave the soldiers an extra weapon in case the enemy got to close. The flintlock was not very accurate, that why soldiers had to rely on swords.

The British would line up and fire at the enemy. Soldiers often stole supplies from the British because the colonist had a shortage in supplies. More soldiers froze and starved to death then getting killed in battle. Colonist also did surprise attacks.
In conclusion, this is how weapons and tactics were very essential for America to defeat the British in the revolutionary war. Weapons were very important because it depended if every single soldier that fought in the revolutionary war lived or died. Remember without weapons there would not even be a war which means we would not have our independence as a country. Also this is how these varieties of weapons worked, and their drawbacks.
