Carly Fiorina once said, “My mother taught me about the power of inspiration and courage, and she did it with a strength and a passion that I wish could be bottled,” this quote will be forever embedded in my head because my mom is my everything and I wish that I could bottle up some of her strength, because she has enough for an army. My mother is that one person that I could turn to for anything. I know that with her by my side I will be able to conquer whatever struggles life presents to me. One of the biggest lessons that my mother taught me is while life may not always be easy you must never give up. The school in which my mom attended offered a field trip where the students were to stay in Albania for ten days. My mother swiftly came home that day and informed my grandfather of the meeting that would be held at school pertaining to the field trip. When my grandfather got home my mother realized that girls were not going on this fieldtrip. My grandfather was the only parent that stood up and fought for his daughter’s rights to attend the field trip. That night he told my mom that he knew she was a bright, intelligent girl that would make him proud on this trip. He said that my mother had to set a good example so that the following year more girls would be allowed to come. He informed my mother that she was an individual who would make a change and pave the way for girls in the future. My mother was very young at the time and was a afraid to attend the field trip alone without her girlfriends. Yet she reflects and says this trip was one of the best experiences.
