My Bedroom
Do you ever wonder why certain places mean so much to certain people? When I think of my bedroom, I realize why some people are touchy about who goes into their room or who has been touching things in their home, it is because those things are important to them and may have some meaning. Places like my bedroom are places where we can relax and be comfortable and I think that is why it is important to people, because we can be ourselves and feel comfortable, we can also just sit down and rest our bones and relax. Another important reason is we can go there when we want privacy, we can just shut our door, maybe even lock it, and tell everyone in our household not to bother us. Also our rooms hold most of our personal belongings and those things are important to us and we do not want anyone else to touch them or in some cases go near them.

When we are tired or not feeling the best we can go to our room, shut our door, and lay down and relax. Maybe even turn on some music or read a book or magazine. My bed is where I like to retreat to when I want to relax. I have a double bed with four pillows and my favorite comforter. It is a Little Mermaid comforter, I know it is childish, but it is soft and warm. And of course, my Tickle Me Elmo sits on my bed and keeps me company. A lot of times I just lay down and close my eyes and daydream about places I 'd like to see or think about things that make me happy. One thing we should not do is think about things we need to get done or anything that makes us feel stressed because then we 'll never feel relaxed. I usually try to stay away from these sorts of thoughts and it usually works out
When a person's faith is also an alternative for their culture and morals, it proves challenging to take that sense of security in that faith away from them. In Night, Elie Wiesel, a Jewish student living in Sighet, Transylvania during the war of 1942, uses his studies in Talmud and the Kabbalah as not only a religious practice but a lifestyle. Elie and his fellow civilians are warned, however, by his Kabbalah teacher who says that during the war, German aggressors are aggregately imprisoning, deporting, and annihilating millions of Jews. When Elie and his family are victim of this aggression, Elie realizes how crucial his faith in God is if he is to survive the Holocaust. He vows after being separated from his mother and sisters that he will protect he and his father from death, even though as death nears, Elie gradually becomes closer to losing his faith. In the end, to Elie's devastation, Elie makes it out of the Holocaust alone after his father dies from the intense seclusion to malnutrition and deprivation. Elie survives the Holocaust through a battle of conscience--first by believing in God, then resisting his faith in God, and ultimately replacing his faith with obligation to his father.
Ames Room Essay An Ames room is a distorted room that is used to create an optical illusion. It was created by an American ophthalmologist named Adelbert Ames, Jr. in 1934. The same room wasn’t constructed until the following year in 1935. It tricks people into being ordinary cubic shaped, but the true shape of this room is trapezoidal since the walls are slanted and the ceiling and the floor are inclined. As a result of the optical illusion, a figure or person standing in one corner appears to the person looking through the hole of the room( box) to be very big, while the other figure or person standing in the other corner appears to be too little.
My room is the only place where I am most comfortable due to the way how I personally decorated it. My room fits my personality and nothing in my room distracts nor annoys me. Everything fits my preference: the size of my bed, its setting, its organization, and the low quantity of baubles scattered around the room. My room can either be clamorous or silent.

Although the Stanford Sleepiness Scale was the most interesting to analyze, the weeklong sleep diary allowed me to see aspects that the “Alertness Test” did not. The two biggest pieces were the effects of the program on my sleep latency and the negative impact alcohol has on sleep. First, it was one of my goals to improve my sleep latency, as during the 4 weeks of the sleep diary, my sleep latency was typically 15 minutes (higher during stressful days ex/basketball games). In order to allow for the sleep latency to decrease during emotional times, I decided to implement a 15-minute routine before I went to bed. This paper contains a journal description of my Service Learning Applied Learning Experience (ALE). My ALE involved developing an interesting way to inform others about the importance of sleep hygiene. This sleep hygiene project was begun so that we could spread awareness in a fun way to the college population of how important sleep is in our lives. The main purpose of creating this booth at the Fall Poo-looza was to focus on the benefits of maintaining good sleep hygiene in order to decrease the amount of sleep people lose.

Dreams can be bizarre, one moment the dreamer is being chased by a killer in the jungle, when suddenly the dreamer is in Paris sitting with friends having a cup of coffee. Most people dream every night while they are sleeping, yet they have no idea why they are dreaming what they dream. Dreams are a fascinating and puzzling topic, since the ancient times people have analyzed and researched dreams. Although an extensive amount of research has been collected, no one has found enough concrete evidence for a definite reason people dream what they dream and in fact why people dream at all. A major reason being that only the dreamer can experience and retell the dream. There are many theories, most scientists agree with. Dreams are visual images that occur usually during sleep, moreover; there are many theories on why people dream and types of dreams, ranging from thoughts of the day, to fear, to the desires and emotions of a person mixed without rational thoughts.
Dreams are necessary. Without dreams, there will be no ambition to chase. There will be no goal to reach. We won't have anything to aim for. We will all be nothing without dreams. Not having dreams is like chasing a traceless murder. It is like following an invisible shadow. It is a dreadful goose chase. We must know what we want to do and follow that ambition. We can’t achieve anything in life without goals, and for these goals, we need to dream.

I experience a lot of stress, so therefore there are a few strategies I would choose. Trying a cognitive shift is one of them. When I am stressed out, I like to pray and read scriptures that encourage. They always reassure me that I am not alone and leave it all in God’s hands. This always makes me feel better because I know he has brought me out of worse situations.
