The book “If I Did It" was written by O.J. Simpson, while the Goldman family owns the rights and profits to this book. O.J. Simpson was primarily known for being in the NFL as a running back for the Buffalo Bills and the 49ers. He later discovered other talents and careers, which made him well known around the world. This book is a memoir specifically describing OJ’s life when he was married to, divorced from, and arrested for the murder of Nicole Brown. I chose this book because I am interested in knowing the whole story of the crime and to understand exactly what he believes or wants us to believe happened. During OJ and Nicole's marriage, there were many 911 calls and police reports filed due to OJ’s abusive temper. 62 domestic abuse reports were filed against O.J. Simpson. Eventually, he was on probation for two years and had 200 hours of community service. Nicole divorces OJ, but later in the book, he discusses how regretful Nicole was for leaving him. He wrote that she missed him and stalked him during their break and after they ended things for the second and final time. On the night of the murder, OJ recalls being with his friend Charlie Ehrlich and driving over to Nicole's house in a fit of rage. He states that he put gloves on, a blue golf hat, and showed Charlie a knife he had but did not bring with him. OJ goes through Nicole's broken gate when Ron Goldman shows up and explains he was giving Nicole sunglasses her mom left at a restaurant he worked at. OJ and Ron get into a yelling match when Charlie shows up with the knife in his hand. Ultimately, Nicole comes out and joins the fight.
