People all around the world are being killed in grotesque ways. Although society does recognizes what ISIS is and what they do, most people do not know how cruel they are. ISIS (also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) is a group of terrorists who have killed over 1400 people. The humans they have killed includes children, adults, and even a Japanese reporter. ISIS uses the media to release footage and if people do not obey them, hostages are terminated. ISIS uses the press to influence people and it is unacceptable. ISIS should not use violence to move people, as violence will influence the media badly, using others to obtain believers is unacceptable and showing murdering will make the society violent. ISIS releases videos and images of dangerous incidents. These videos and images were indescribable and shocked the world. Most people do not see murder in front of their eyes, but they can witness it in the media. A surviving hostage was forced to see humans being killed and was terrified (TheSun, 2016, JC). Extreme broadcasting will scare the world, and the media informs this information to the world creating a great situation for ISIS. The press only show what people need to know and it is their job to do so. However, showing images and videos of murdering might leave a deep scar in the society so the press needs to be more careful. The media is doing their jobs, informing the community what citizens around the world need to know, but showing extreme violence is wrong as there is no benefit. For example, violent games and violence that is fake makes individuals think dangerously which may cause aggressive behaviour (DailyCalifornian, 2014, RG). Showing grotesque context will transform the world into a dangerous …show more content…
Secondly children are influenced by what they are able to do such as families showing violence to them (WeHaveKids, 2016, SJ). Thirdly, showing grotesque photos on the media people are actually helping ISIS, as it can cause horrendous incidents such as the Paris attack in November of 2015 (RealClearWorld, 2016, AM). In the near future, ISIS will run out of plans and will have to give up at some point. Everyone has the power to influence others and it is huge that ISIS uses the news as a weapon. Media is actually something that can be harmful to humans. Everyone has to use the media correctly because media can harm the society in ways stated above. People need to be more careful about how they act. They need to be aware that context which seem safe may be dangerous and that they are able to harm everyone in any way possible. Humans have infinite possibilities as they can keep improving so people need to be careful about the news and improve it to create a more peaceful world. Violent context that may influence the human behavior need to be banned as, it will make the world dangerous. ISIS is violent, and everyone should not be moved by it. This report did not investigate the positive effects of ISIS so, it is recommendable to search for
ISIS has shown that they are one of the biggest terror threats in the world (CNN). People even are starting comparing ISIS to the Nazis from World War II(Luckert). Nazis and ISIS are very similar, but they are also very different. The similarities are shocking to see that history could possibly repeat itself and people still haven’t learned from the Nazis’ time. The Nazis exterminated more than six million innocent civilians. If no one stops ISIS, who knows what they will be able to accomplish.
This is pretty much golden rule or empathy based and to do what is best for others in a given situation. This being said, is it the responsibility of the media to promote the golden rule or to record life as it happens? On one hand, the media could dismiss all knowledge of said perpetrator and promote the well being of others in terms of an empathetic point of view. On the other hand, is it not important to establish a sense of factual evidence and details from an event that occurred? Citizens should be informed, however, from a care based ethics point of view which promotes the strict foundation of doing good unto others, the best answer would be to not publish facts and pictures to keep the feelings of a said society at bay.
Media violence affects negative to people’s society. Media violence is always a trouble to society. It can lead people having violent behavior, copy violent offence, and having a wrong would outlook. As the result, media violence should be haven better control.
The news today has to do with what people want to hear, not particularly what is worth while or even accurate. In the Daily Telegraph’s (English newspaper) foreign news page there is a story of an outbreak of violence by political protests in the Middle East. Patrick Bishop, the senior editor on Middle Eastern affairs, writes: "Western leaders are becoming increasingly concerned by the threat to democracy posed by the growth of Islamic fundamentalists extremism." Other headlines from random British newspapers convey the same message: "Italy on security alert after Islam terror warning; Clinton to lead summit against Islamic terror; France fears protracted Islam terror campaign; Islamic fanatics gun down Briton in terror campaign" (Edward Mortimer). This is the message that the media is sending to all its readers and watchers about Islam. These headlines may have hap...
every day there is something on the news about a terrorist attack somewhere in the world. The threat is real, but the biggest threat is ISIS. Countries all around the globe are preparing for, or fighting, a war against ISIS. In a world full of many terrorist groups and threats, ISIS is the most powerful. The world needs to better understand what it is, where they attack, and how to stop them.
The media, including television programming, cartoons, film, the news, as well as literature and magazines, is a very powerful and pervasive medium for expression. It can reach a large number of people and convey ideas, cultural norms, stereotypic roles, power relationships, ethics, and values. Through these messages, the mass media may have a strong influence on individual behavior, views, and values, as well as in shaping national character and culture. Although there is a great potential for the media to have a positive and affirming effect on the public and society at large, there may be important negative consequences when the messages conveyed are harmful, destructive, or violent.
...ovies and commercials. But even though media can prove useful to society in certain ways and it is essential nowadays to people’s lives, it causes more damage than it does good in the long run. Like would it be better to have a good economy with a moral people now and later on have a good economy with psychologically distorted people, or to always have a balance between the two? A good economy is useless to a society of people that kill each other and riot due to the ideas fed to them to build that economy.
Media is the most powerful sector of an economy. It is a tool to maintain a balanced society which is characterized by well informed people, effective democracy and social justice. In fact, media has unparallel influence on all aspects of human life in modern times.
The Islamic State The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is one of the largest threats that the international community is facing today. ISIS started as an Al Qaeda splinter group in 2004 and ever since ISIS continued growing in the region. In 2014, many kidnappings, mass killing and public executions magnified ISIS’s world presence. ISIS has taken control of large areas in Syria and Iraq making it hard for the local governments to control their actions.
It comes down mainly to everyone taking responsibility for our actions. As I said previously we cannot completely avoid the mass media, nor all of the impacts on our lives, however we can control how much we are exposed to in some points. As a parent there needs to be control of what children can and cannot watch as far as television, movies and limiting the time that it is watched. Parents need to educate themselves on the type of show their child wants to watch, sometimes children or teens are allowed to watch shows parents watch. As adolescents, teens, and young adults we have to take on our own responsibility. As an adolescent and teenager they can do their part by talking to their parents when you feel a show may not be appropriate. We all need to work on turning off the TV, or radios and spend more time in a positive manner. And as a society in all remind ourselves it is just TV, and all of the many advertisements or scenes we see are not the actual solution to problems or life’s solution. With the news watch what is necessary to stay up to date with the daily news, however not to the point that the news controls our thoughts. The media knows what and how to pull the society in so that we feed off of it.
Children can be influenced and impacted in many ways whether it is from their parents, peers, and even strangers. One thing many people don’t realize is that many children, nowadays, are actually being influenced by the media, meaning they are being affected by different media sources, such as television and the internet. The question is whether the sources of media, television and the internet has a positive effect or a negative effect on children, and which source of media has a bigger effect.
Media has become a powerful source of knowledge, and a great breakthrough in human history. Who can regret that media is a daily need in our lives. Media has the ability and control to adjust to all levels of knowledge in people. Media helps us to escape from our daily lives and our problems in times of stress. Thou Media as proved to be beneficial by educating, entertaining and informing us, it has also have its downfall, to cause many bad influences to the younger audience. Media has influenced us to conduct bad behavior, breed violence among teens and fear to the public, thus causing a lot of negative conflicts among ourselves. Television, Music, Internet, and more, are just some of the media exposure that needs to be censored and controlled. Media needs to be restricted, so that it doesn’t expose certain content to the wrong audience. Therefore media should be censored, so that we are able to protect our children from certain media exposure.
The media though is a really good thing. It helps us relay messages back and forth. It is a very good source of communication. It informs people of what is happening in our community and throughout the world. The media can also be a very bad thing however. It is sometimes used against people. It can relay a different message than what is being shown. It can make people seem like really bad people when they are really are just regular nice people.
Media technologies are becoming an important aspect of today’s society. Each and every day, people interact with media of many different forms. Media is commonly defined as being a channel of communication. Radio, newspapers, and television are all examples of media. It is impossible to assume that media is made up of completely unbiased information and that the media companies do not impose their own control upon the information being supplied to media users. Since many people use media very frequently, it is obvious to assume that it has affects on people. According to the text book Media Now, "media effects are changes in knowledge, attitude, or behavior that result from exposure to the mass media," (386). This leaves us with many unanswered questions about media and its influences. This paper will look at how the effects of media are determined and explore the main affects on today’s society - violence, prejudice, and sexual behavior.
of them are even harmful. Media was one of the causes of World War I,
