Teachers have one of the most important jobs in the world. They are in charge of educating and preparing kids for the future. However, in order for a learning environment to function, effectively, students, teachers, and parents must work collaboratively to achieve successful outcomes. A collaborative relationship requires all parties’ engagement: teachers, students, and parents. When one of the parties fails to complete their tasks, the results will be catastrophic, causing the student to fail the educational system. The duty of the teachers is to educate the student for approximately four years in order for that alumni to move on to the next level of education. In “I just wanna be Average” Mike rose stated “If you’re a working class kid in the vocational track, a teacher will have to deal with constrained students in a certain way: you’re defined by your school as “slow”; you are placed in a curriculum that isn’t designed to liberate a students but occupy , or; if you are lucky, train you.” (Rose 350) Class segregation has now taken place and has deeply affected the education of a human. Students education should not be determined by their way of transportation to school, whether it be a car or the bus, students must be offered the same education. Teachers have different mentalities for their students. The students that live in the rich neighborhood are expected to be prepared because most of their parents have experienced high school and have a received degree from a university. On other hand, students that lived in low income neighborhoods are labeled as “slow” because their parents are most likely undocumented and don’t speak the native language. The educational system is making students become animals, but not just any animal, a seal. High School students are trained to scream the answer that their teachers want to hear, but not what they think. There is also the teacher that would make his entire class compete for an 'A'. Receiving an 'A' is just a letter that should not determine a student’s intelligence. Not all teachers are heroes, some of them are malicious, but with a low salary many can not expect much this is not Finland. With the help of teachers, students can reach their dreams. Students will no longer be ordinary but extraordinary, but in order for that to happen, students and teachers must work as a team. At the end, teachers are like levers to students.
