My friend, Khoa, a striker and a captain of a soccer team in high school. He can’t go anywhere without carrying his ball in a bag. Soccer is definitely his favorite sport and I couldn’t know exactly when he started to love playing soccer so much, all I could remember was a time when he came to my house and we watched a soccer game between Brazil and Argentina on TV, he screamed loudly when a player scored a goal. I could see how excited on his face, he also pulled me out to the soccer field near my house to do what he just saw, he said, “I will play soccer from now on” and that was a time he began loving soccer.

Instead of helping me with any school things, he will help me anything outside of school such as showing me a new skill in soccer, solving some social problems,... He does anything he can as long as he knows. All the thing he does after school is running to the field to play soccer, he wears a blue jersey, a short pant with a Chelsea club badge and a nike shoes then he enjoys everything with his ball under his feet. The weather is always good to play whenever we have a soccer game, as I stand on the grass I can feel the wind blowed softly against my face, the cloud drifted by in the sky and the sun shone enough, not to overheat. But after a game, our bodies are covered by sweat like we just fall into a swimming pool, it is still fun to play outside. I like to play soccer but I don’t put too much time for it like Khoa does, he puts too much efforts
I remember my dad always watching soccer news every night before going to bed. Growing up in El Salvador, soccer was a sport that significantly impacted my childhood. My cousins and uncles taught me how to play soccer, as well as various techniques that would later benefit me on the soccer field. At the age of seven I started to play for one of most well-known soccer clubs in El Salvador. Practicing twenty three hours a week was really paying off, as I could see in my medal and trophy gain. Not only did they represent my accomplishments, but they also gave joy to my teammates, community, and family because they were the people who encouraged me to give my best. Playing soccer was also a way to release stress because when my family was going through hardships, it was easier for me to let all of my negative energy on the

I really can’t pinpoint the time in my life when I became a soccer fan. But, I remember at a very young age watching soccer games with my father and his friends in the village that we were in. We didn’t have much, but we were one of the few families that had television in the village, and that means that whenever there’s a soccer game on tv, a lot of people will come to our place to watch the game. Soccer was all everybody talk about in terms of sports, and to be honest I didn’t know other sport existed apart from soccer until we moved to the United States. So growing up, all I hear about when it comes to sports is soccer. The boys would talk about it and play it bare foot on the playground, my father and his age mates and up will not stop talking about it, and most women, if not all, will bring
Passion has its place I grab my tattered bag and clean cleats and run out the door to my awaiting teammates. As I walk down the stairs my legs feel fresh and ready to work. I open up the car door and smile to my two teammates as we head off to practice. This marks the fourth time this week that I had to leave my piles of homework at home to go to practice. However, soccer does not feel like an obligation anymore to my teammates and I. It has become a part of our lives that we could not live without.
