Passion has its place
I grab my tattered bag and clean cleats and run out the door to my awaiting teammates. As I walk down the stairs my legs feel fresh and ready to work. I open up the car door and smile to my two teammates as we head off to practice. This marks the fourth time this week that I had to leave my piles of homework at home to go to practice. However, soccer does not feel like an obligation anymore to my teammates and I. It has become a part of our lives that we could not live without. The main reasons this magnificent sport does not feel like an obligation to myself anymore is because of my love for the game, the feeling I get when I step on the field, and the opportunity it has given me for the future. Playing soccer has not only helped me build multiple friendships but also allows me to express my

However, I am extremely grateful I persisted and continued playing because it helped me achieve the one goal I have had all of my life. As a kid I would dream of getting a scholarship to play soccer at a big school. I would spend hours looking at all of the schools and fields and dreaming about where I wanted to go. Then one day I got a call from my coach and he told me that Kansas-State was super interested in me and wanted me to take a visit. I had visited other colleges like TCU and Auburn but when I stepped foot on K-State I instantly fell in love with the elegant white building and the large complexes for sports and athletes. After a few weeks of discussing with my parents, I committed there to fulfill my dreams. Committing was such a relief and exciting experience for me. I had spent so much time working for this moment and finally achieving it meant the world to me. However, my work is not over, and I am super excited to continue my journey while doing what I enjoy the
Soccer has guided me in many ways to become the person I am. Especially in high school, the sport has showed me how to be much more cooperative and open with others. Before high school, I isolated myself from others and had only a few close friends. Rather than being a sociable, I acted as though I was the only person in the world and had the outlook that as long as I do what is right individually, there is no need for me to work with others. This outlook changed when I joined the soccer team at Holy Spirit, my high school. With the way soccer is at the high school level, I had no choice but to cooperate and associate my selves with others. Once on the field, instead of introducing myself as "me" I had to introduce myself as a part of the team. You win as a team and you lose as a team. Sometimes I wanted to drive to games myself, and I was not allowed to because we are supposed to travel together and it would be wrong to the team for me to separate myself from the group.
UTK is a the university that I want to attend because it will give me a great opportunity to be a success student, and because the city it is located in is a beautiful place and has different social opportunities. Also because the school spirit and everyone there feels like your
Being involved in a sport was one of the best things I ever did. I starting playing soccer at the age of 7 and did not stop until I was out of high school. I loved to play soccer more than anything, I would play fall soccer, spring, winter, and summer leagues, and I could never get enough of soccer. I too, just as Mox had a couple of coaches I did not agree with, I hated to play for them because I felt that they had other motto’s besides just coaching the team. I would still play because I loved the game but did not agree with what they had to say. If I had a good coach I would play my hardest to help the team out.
Playing soccer has also brought my family closer together. Both my parents and my sisters would come to all my games and support me. No matter the outcome of the game my family was always there for me. My family has been at my important games and the games that I am not so proud of. Even though they have seen the worst of the sport I still love having them watching me play. They have been the reason I have never given up. And I love making them proud. In the past year, my travel team folded and I thought that I would never have another team to play on. It was very upsetting knowing that I would not be playing with the same girls that I have played with my entire life. Yet, I joined an intramural team and started playing again. I played on a co-ed team for two more years before I graduated high school. On the intramural tea...
While I have developed my soccer skills over the years, the relationships I have built with people are treasured more than my ability to play the game. Playing soccer has granted me the opportunity to be surrounded by an extensive family of people who truly love me. I am forever indebted to the sport for bringing me into love-filled relationships with players and coaches alike.
The definition of soccer: “A game played by two teams of eleven players with a round ball that may not be touched with the hands or arms during play except by the goalkeepers. The object of the game is to score goals by kicking or heading the ball into the opponent 's ' goal.” When I think about the thing I’m most passionate about, soccer pops into my head right away. Soccer represents more than just a game to me. The sport gives me an outlet distract me from the real world, it taught me to overcome a battle that shaped my character, and my teammates bring out the best in me.
I have constantly loved soccer since the day I began playing in California for my youth soccer group.I had never followed it much and just knew how to play until I moved to India. In America soccer is not that prevalent a game compared to Baseball and American Football however around the globe it is the most famous game on the planet. I have always played football however I had never followed it until I was 14 and that touched off an enthusiasm in me like nothing else.
I was always taught that soccer was to be about the love of the game and that it should be fun. Unfortunately, I faced many obstacles that I needed to overcome before I could truly love the game for what it was worth. I grew and continued to love the game, knowing little at the time of the obstacles I would be faced with, and would need to overcome. My struggles with soccer began early in my life. I was an average player, who had a drive to succeed and go far.
Soccer has positively impacted my life by giving me a constant source of joy and growth. Through the many years I have played soccer I have gained invaluable skills such as discipline, teamwork, and resilience. Soccer has introduced me to some of my closest friends, it is more than a sport, it’s a brotherhood. Soccer has shaped me both on and off the field, instilling values and memory’s I will hold forever.
At the time, I was really just interested in soccer because my friends were, I had no idea how important it would become to me. Luckily, I ended up making the team and falling head-over-heels in love with the sport. There was something about the thrill of making a great play, the energy on the sidelines, on game days and the rush of adrenaline of hoping to score a goal that had me hooked. Over the coming years, I would come to realize that even beyond being the most fun I had ever had, my participation in soccer has had an incredible important influence on my life.
As all athletes know, being a part of a team mean you have to work together. Despite the obstacles you all will encounter, you have to overcome them as a team. No one gets left behind and you help each other out when one needs it. It’s not always easy but it is what has to be done for the outcome everyone hopes for, which is to win.
Living in country like Vietnam, soccer is the king of sport. That is why it is not surprising that my childhood has grown up with the soccer’s ball until today. My mom told me that I liked kicking the ball around and had so much fun with it when I was only about two years old. Since then, playing soccer is my favorite’s sport and it is my hobby whenever I have free time. It is interesting and amazing, especially the feeling when I score a goal or my teammates do it. That feeling fulfills in me like I have just archived something very important. Playing soccer also helps me to relax and be confident when I have stress and frustration. For instant, after doing assignment or studying all day long, I feel tired and exhausted. However, having fun with the ball such as kicking it against the wall or trying to do some tricks, all of my tiresome and exhaustion die out.

There is more to life than material wealth, and it's those other desire to achieve it. One fact about soccer is that in 1967 the Nigerian civil war ground stood to a halt for two days because both sides wanted to observe a soccer player named Pele play an exhibition match.
