Hello Everyone,

First, thank you for the Christmas gifts. They are very nice and appreciated and we will find a nice place to put them. The wooden plaque of Cheryl will go nicely on the wall I have reserved for the family tree. I have several family pictures there already. I also Love the Lantern. I will probably keep it close to the fireplace either upstairs or downstairs.

Anyway, I know Paul has spoken to all of you about the situation and has written you letters. Clearly, you guys do not quite understand the situation. Either you do not understand or you simply do not care. I guess the response to this letter will tell us which one it is. I was simply trying to get help in dealing with a situation that was becoming more and more difficult and not just with me. Amanda’s bipolar diagnosis makes things more complicated. Every Time we get together and something is said, if Amanda is having a bad day, it could and has sent her into a downhill spiral. It could take her months to get over it if she gets over it at all. She was close to exploding several times. I was trying to find a diplomatic way of sitting down and discussing it with everyone. Since I have approached the issue privately in the past and nothing changed, I did not have a shred of hope that a sit down would do anything but I wanted to try. IF things did not change, I had every intention of cutting ties and letting Paul and the kids do what they want. I have always encouraged them to keep going to family functions.

If Ken’s family is angry, maybe Ken should man up and own his part in the situation. Man up and let them know that I tried more than once to get him to understand what he is doing. He simply does not care, maybe he was raised that way and his family is angry that I called out all of them on their behavior. Frankly, I don’t care. After YEARS and YEARS of putting up with the hate that comes from your mouths, you learn that you have seriously hurt them. They feel unwanted, unloved, and unaccepted by you guys. What do you think happens to a non-straight child when they hear the things you guys have said? Ken’s and Matt’s use of the word Homo as if it were an insult or suggestions that a gay person is more likely to rape a child than a straight person even the mocking of trans people. What do you think the CONSTANT use of the word retard does to a child like Chey? Take a guess. Justin has a very strong sense of social justice. Listening to the antisemitic, your friend’s anti-Islamic, and anti-LGBTQ hate is difficult, to say the least. You guys think it is political correctness. That proves that you simply do not get it. It is not about being PC, it is called not sounding racist. And if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck…. Well. SOME of you have been told that you sound racist.
