The Best Job To Have “Fwoosh” is the the sound oil and gas makes as is gets transported through pipelines through everywhere oil and natural gases are needed. Workers who pipeline say it's a great job with good salaries and opportunities . The best job for a pipeliner to be would be a pipeline engineer, they design the pipelines and choose their landscapes. Clearly a career of choice to consider is to be a pipeline engineer, but being a pipeliner isn't as easy as it sounds there's a lot of school and work that comes with it. Some of those things include: “field work with hazardous conditions, years of field experience, they must maintain a professional engineer license, and also possess the stamina to work in different weather conditions …show more content…
“The minimum degree needed is a bachelor degree with the degree field being civil, mechanical or structural engineering. A license for a professional engineer (P.E) is also required to be an engineer (How To Become A Pipeline Engineer)”. Designing pipelines takes a bachelor's degree because the pipelines need to last long, be strong, and survive harsh weather and the more school you have the more you learn; if a pipeline were to burst or leak it would harm the environment, animals, and cost a lot to clean the mess. A professional engineer license (P.E) is a license you get after you take and pass a test of what you know about engineering, with the license you find a job easier and get higher pay. “At least 1and up to 5 years of experience is required for most positions”(How To Become A Pipeline Engineer). Pipelining is a very dangerous job and employers want new employees that have at least a year of experience that being an apprentice of a senior pipeline engineer or getting an internship at a company. That way when you start out you know a little bit about the job and you don't go out and hurt someone or possibly kill someone. Companies that have required at least a year of experience have seen a decrease in work related accidents as opposed to those who hire works straight out of …show more content…
With employment prospects expected to increase by the time you finish college the is a better chance of you finding the a job. No doubt pipelining is a challenging job but with years of experience it gets easier. Nonetheless a pipeline engineer is a great job to consider for the future.

The installation of the Keystone Pipeline began with Phase One, the installation of 2,147 miles of pipeline stretching from Alberta to refineries in Illinois. The installation and administration of Phase One included the conversion of 537 miles of Ca...
We defiantly need to establish the safety behind this. But safety is not only for the people around the pipeline but for the impact the building of said pipe line will have on the environment around it. Also what safety nets do we have in place in case of environmental catastrophe.
To begin with, Study.com tells that the lowest level of education required is a high school diploma or equivalent. Many employers may require an employer- based welding test. Some employers look for a certificate or undergraduate degree from a technical school (Study.com). Next, it is important to note where training is available. WATC.edu states, that they offer a welding program. WATC is located in Wichita Kansas. Their welding program allows students to gain knowledge and skills in cutting, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, and provides some exposure to oxy-acetylene cutting and welding (WATC.edu). In addition, the length and cost of the training is an important consideration. WATC.edu shares, that there are 5 different degree and certificate options. The one I would be interested in is the Welding Technical Certificate option. This one would be a total of 46 credit hours and would cost a total of $10,524. Finally, this job requires certain traits, talents and interests. The Occupational Handbook adds, that welders often must work in awkward positions using tools, so they need to be able to put up with that. A lot of times, overtime will be present. So you would have to be available for overtime if needed. Welders are required to lift heavy objects sometimes. So a welder should be fairly strong (The OCO). I think that being a welder would be hard work. I feel that I would be able to work hard enough to be a welder. I now know what traits a person should have, in order to be a welder. In summary, there are educational and personal qualifications to consider if I want to become a
Recently, TransCanada’s Keystone XL pipeline has become a hot debate topic. Those who oppose the Western United States oil pipeline are misled and uniformed. The US Government should authorize the Keystone XL Pipeline that would import tar sand oil from Canada. The pipeline would generate jobs and help to remove foreign oil dependency, is the safest transportation option being considered and finally will not harm or affect the environment as opponents claim.
In an expanded view the pipeline is very beneficial to the world but we are not talking about the world view. Much of the profit that would be made from the pipeline will be made in either in a foreign country or in a foreign state. And because all the profit that could be made will be made in a far off place, we are left will a lot of risk and little reward. The pipeline will be transporting several chemicals that are lethal to crops and people. According to the Bluegrass pipeline website one of the chemicals that are being tra...
Both types are drilled into a formation using mud, are cased in, and are then produced (usually) using tubing. In some regard, however, there is not much similarity; water wells are only about two thousand feet into the ground whereas oil wells are drilled much deeper, the danger almost certainly is not the same. The important thing to look at is that oil drilling is inherently more dangerous that water well drilling. Someone specializing in oil wells should definitely be able to find a place among those drilling water wells. My father told me that if I was interested, he could set me up with a company in that industry that is local to Louisiana. He said that taking the drilling courses would be beneficial if this is a choice I would be considering. As I said, it may not be my first choice but it is a very valid career opportunity. I took the drilling courses anyway because I know that drilling is what I am interested in specializing. To me, water well drilling would not be ideal because it would place me outside the oil and gas industry. It is however one of my

Some colleges offer a degree in aerospace engineering; others offer a more generalized engineering degree with some coursework in aerospace engineering. These courses might include aerospace guidance systems, extreme-altitude material science, and the physics of high-altitude radiation. Internships, summer jobs, and any experience in the field are helpful, as entry into this industry is highly competitive. Many aspirants may need to relocate to California, Washington State, or Texas, where the majority of defense industry aerospace work is done, to work for companies such as NASA, Boeing and Lockheed Martin. Two years into their job an aerospace engineer can be planning on being Junior members of research staff are swamped with work, both in the lab and in offices, crunching data and organizing research.

One of my career goals is to become a process operator. Before I graduate from high school, I will choose between the path on becoming a process operator or pursuing a career in Law Enforcement. The main career I am shooting for is becoming a process operator.
Any engineering career starts from the resume writing. Usually a resume consists of two parts: the list of things that you have done well in your life and the cover letter. Dr. Craig Gunn, a professor of mechanical engineering, clearly explains, “Many big companies do not require the cover letter, but it will be much better for you to write one, because if a manager will read it for some reason, your chances to get a job will be a lot higher.” A person that is going to give you a job will not see you directly, so you have to convince him or her not to throw your resume in the basket by presenting all of your best qualities in the resume. To write a good convincing resume is a very difficult thing to accomplish without some preparations. A good thing will be to go to a library and read a special book about resume writing. Also, the Internet is full of websites like http://www.7step-resumesampler.com/ that have a lot of important information about this subject.
