Did you know that most people think simplicity and consistency are the most important factors in success? Well, I am one of those people. I wanted to become better at sports, but I didn’t have a person who could get me there, until my dad stepped in. He would take me to multiple different places, never stop for anything, and push me to my limits. He decided that if I wanted to become better at sports that he would get me there, anyway possible. He did whatever he could to make me the way I am. In my family, we really don’t do much that consists of physical activity such as sports. The only people that do are my dad and I. We go out on our sports court, we ride bikes to the soccer field, and we go to the bowling alley every once in a while. He enjoys spending time with me …show more content…
If you play the ball in the right spot, you will get a strike. After I hear his words of wisdom, I get a strike. Most of the time, I'm a snob. Even when it is a delightful day to go out onto the sports court, I wish to do other things. One of those activities is soccer. Soccer is a fast-paced and enticing game. From phenomenal goals to human-like fish, soccer is a sport that unites the world. When I play soccer, I enjoy biking down to a nearby soccer field named “Aronson Park.” This is my favorite outside field to play on. The grass is the perfect green color, the wind always calmly blows, and the weather is always beautiful. Every time I bike down, I always go with my dad. He is always willing to go anytime I would like to. Once we arrive at our destination, we mount off our bikes and walk the short distance to the field. Most of the time, the fields are empty. Sometimes, there are others shooting around. If this happens, we either go to the opposite side of the field, or we go to a different field. If we get the field to ourselves, my dad usually just sits behind the net until I miss a shot. He fetches my rebound every time I
Many things have helped to shape my identity to make me the person I am. The most influential thing that has shaped me is my culture. One of the biggest pieces of my culture that has done this is my participation in sports. Out of the sports I play, high school soccer has shaped me the most. Soccer in high school shaped my identity by making me more social, a leader, and open minded about diversity.
I started playing soccer when I was four years old. At the time I had a lot of problems. To name a few, I was bad at working with others, I was a sore loser, and I did not handle pain or disappointment well. When I started to play soccer I had a low self esteem and was terribly shy. Going up and talking to people was not on my list of things to do. This made it pretty hard for me to fit in with all the other kids and make friends. It was hard to enjoy playing soccer when I felt as though I had no friends on the team. My parents noticed my dislike in the sport, but urged me to keep playing anyway.
After four years of a new team every season, I went into my first practice of my fifth soccer season expecting the same to be true. Play on this team for one year and then be randomly placed on a different one the following year. Little did I know this team, especially the coaches, would leave a lasting impact on my life. I gained an invaluable support system that has stuck by my side for an upwards of nine years.
One incident that happened to me that change how I thought about sports was when I first started playing soccer. It all started when my mom said that I should join a sport to get me more active. It took me awhile to choose soccer at first because there were so many sports to choose from. I told my mom I wanted to play soccer. She signed me up to play for a non competitive league (GYSA) so I can learn the basics of the sport. She also told me to play I would have to maintain good grades. After hearing that i always tried my best in soccer and school.
Do you have that certain something that has affected your life for better? Football is that thing for me. I have played it as long as I could walk. I still remember the time when I was very little and my dad would take me to the front yard and we would play catch and talk about football for hours. I have enjoyed football in three big parts of life: Pee Wee, Junior High, and High school.
Everyone has life experiences. Some can be new and fun, like the first time ever going to Disney World as a child. Meeting your favorite movie characters and seeing stories come to life. Other can be tragic, like losing a loved one or suffering a car crash. No matter the experience we all learn from them. I am here to tell you about an experience of mine that I went through at an early age. At the age of 15, I told my parents that I wanted to play football. The sport of football really changed my view on life and taught me that things don’t come easy and that if you really want something, you’re going to have to put in the time and work. One of the many experiences of being in the sport of football is that practice is one of the toughest things I’ve ever went through, physically and mentally. Football taught me a lot about team work and working with others on doing and executing a job. Football made me faster stronger smarter and wiser. I had great coaches who always encouraged me to keep going whenever I wanted to quit because something was too hard or I was feeling
“Football changed my life and it gave me a platform to get out my aggression and it gave me a sense of value.” said by Dwayne Johnson. When I had nothing to do at home I could always go and play football with my friends instead of going out and doing something I shouldn’t. When you grow up with a family that loves football and goes to a school where the passion is mainly playing football. I ask myself every day what would my life be without football. If it wasn't for football, I don't know where I would be right now. Football kept me out of trouble and it also helped me out in school when I needed it the most. If I were to describe what makes me, me I would have to say its football.
I remember being nine years old, and like any other elementary school kid my mother had me playing soccer. Most kids don’t play soccer with the intention of continuing, and neither did I. When I was nine though, something clicked, and it started with one day, one moment, and one decision that changed who I could’ve been as a person today.
While playing soccer through the years, I have learned the importance of being a team player, a leader, and to think outside the box.
I don't consider soccer a sport I play; I consider it a passion of mine. I come from a family that’s not a big fan of any sport except for soccer. This made soccer the most important sport in my life. I grew up in an environment enthusiastic about soccer. I have loved soccer ever since I can remember which can be since I took my first steps. If I was not playing soccer with my dad and brothers, I would watch games with my grandpa on TV. My dad was a soccer coach and, I grew up going to practices and watching him coach many teams until I was old enough to play on one of his teams. He always told me he wasn’t my dad during the game, he was a coach first and a dad second.
The sport that can catch my eye as fast as light is soccer. Soccer is basically what I do during the weekends and some weekdays. I have dedicated nine years into this sport and it has been what has carried me through life.. Soccer to me is like the beach to others. Anytime they can they’ll try to get out and go to the beach and enjoy themselves. Whenever I have an opportunity too I’ll go outside as fast as I can and play my heart out. Soccer has gotten me through the best and worst times of my life and I would not be the person I am today without it. People may describe this sport as two teams running back and forth for a ball, but the way I see it is completely different. I see the different set ups and plays people are going to do. I see
Junior year, September 18th 2015, was my first home football game. I had been cheering for three years but this was my first year cheering for Brother Martin. I had cheered for Mount Carmel before but I wanted to cheer at football games. Mount Carmel doesn’t have a football league
The summer of 2014 was a season that changed my life forever. It started off as a great, fun time that was full of friends, family and lots of football. About three quarters of the way through the summer, the football program hosts an annual scrimmage where we invite two other teams to our school and we scrimmage them. That year, I was on the Freshman football team and the day of the scrimmage, we were going up against Holland Christian and Mona Shores. It started off as a normal day of football.
It is the start of a new chapter in my life and I decided that this year it is going to be different, that this year I was going to get off my gluteus maximus and do something with my life! I have always felt that I was alone, not part of any group, or had people I felt were like my family other than my own blood but that was going to change after because this year I have decided on playing a sport. My instincts told me that it was going to be difficult and that I would not have the body or mind to follow through. Most of the sports at school did not have a no-cut policy and I knew that if I was going to go up against hundreds of other students... there would be no way I can beat them but it did not stop me.
The ball was coming slightly wide towards me,I tried to take the catch and took the catch, but this catch changed my life. I was an active sports player since my childhood, I participated in different sport at different levels. I loved the things that included work related to my games, as I was the sports manager of my house for two years. The most favourite game of mine was CRICKET,my first love.
