When some of us hear others talking about their experiences with knitting, we might automatically picture our grey-haired grandmother sitting on the couch casting on stitches to her knitting needles, but since recently, this perception has started to shift dramatically in modern society. In this essay, I will look at the many ways in which the subculture of knitting helps reduce depression. First, I will be discussing how knitting creates communities that help reduce depression. Knitting has been found to reduce depression greatly because it helps to create and strengthen communities online and offline. With easy access to the Internet, people are able to share knitting patterns and tips amongst each other through popular websites such as Pinterest, Etsy, and Ravelry. Knitters are also able to post their finished products on Etsy which allows people to buy them. It is also very easy to connect with other knitters through online chat rooms, forum threads, Facebook groups, and social networking app called Instagram, Since knitting is portable and can be done just about anywhere, knitters often create knitting groups offline and assemble at local coffee shops in order to have a chance to socialize with other people to discuss knitting, or to confide in each other about some issues they may have. Knitting groups have such a positive effect on the quality of life that people have and even though we may think we have tried everything to alleviate symptoms of depression it is always best to reach out to others who may be going through the same situations that we are. We as human beings are not indestructible. Being able to make time for you to knit is absolutely crucial to a positive lifestyle. In order for us to be able to have the energy to give to other people in our lives, we must sometimes stop to think about the well being of ourselves. Because knitting allows individuals to have freedom of expression through yarn bombing it is a vehicle for boosting our mood. It also helps to build our confidence and helps us realize who we are as human beings. I believe that knitting and crochet should be taught in primary schools as a form of art because it promotes physical and psychological health, which is crucial in early childhood development. It would help children figure out their own identity early on therefore they may feel less likely to be depressed especially as they grow older. It could also change the perception that some individuals may have about how it is an activity that only women can take part in doing. It would also help them express themselves and to see knitting as an art form. It could be effective
To conclude, the capability to create customized clothing is becoming undemanding as technology evolves. Ready made apparel was only available in predetermined sizes before the American Civil War, this exemplifies how the sizes were arbitrary and were not the same on a broad scale. The statement “The wealthy’s clothes were made by tailors” is a prime example of how tailored outfits are costly. Today, designers have computer-aided design to their disposal; this improved the creation of clothing in many ways, making it effortless to design the clothing and to also produce them. With the creation of new technology making clothes, fabrics will become easier.

Depression is a serious medical illness that negatively affects how a person conducts him/herself, and the way he/she think. Depression may include anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders, manic depressions. People with a depressive illness cannot merely ‘pull themselves together’ and get better. About 5% of the population will have some form of a mental illness at some point in their lives. Half of these people will also have a substance abuse
It may produce no new information but it seems plausible, even logical, that it would have an impact at least
The desire to be accepted and belong to a group is an undeniable human need. But how does this need affect an individual? Social psychologists have conducted numerous experiments and concluded that, through various forms of social influence, groups can change their members’ thoughts, feelings, and behavior.

Not only can art help improve a kids education over all, having it taught as a regular part of the curriculum helps children learn to express themselves in a way that is safe and promotes problem solving. There is no right answer in art so it allows the student to explore all options before finding the one
* Children can learn thru any kind of art many thinks, will help them in their social and emotional skill, that children feel relax and be more patience with something they like, children feel successful that they can do a lot, and at the same time children can express their feelings. Children interacting with their peers and adult too they build a good relationship.
Art Education is not always valued in school settings. Although some may see it as an unnecessary use of school funding, there are many who believe it is beneficial to students in more ways than one. There are many different studies that have been conducted to test the effects that art education has on school-aged children. Some studies have proven that art education can help students to improve in other academic areas. In a journal article from Ohio State University’s “Theory in Practice,” Karen A Hamblen states, “There are linkages between art learning and learning in other subjects areas and that art study can promote creative behaviors, critical thinking skills, and academic achievement.” It has also been found that the arts can teach children better self-regulatory strategies, and even foster more confidence and self-efficacy in school which relates to confidence in academics. Overall, art education in schools has been very beneficial and has proven to ignite creativity, confidence, critical thinking skills, and academic achievement in students.
Depression is a murky pool of feelings and actions scientists have been trying to understand since the days of Hippocrates, who called it a "black bile." It has been called "the common cold of mental illness and, like the cold, it's difficult to quantify. If feelings of great sadness or agitation last for much more than two weeks, it may be depression. For a long time, people who were feeling depressed were told to "snap out of it." According to a study done by National Institute of Mental Health, half of all Americans still view depression as a personal weakness or character flaw. Depression, however, is considered a medical disorder and can affect thoughts, feelings, physical health, and behaviors. It interferes with daily life such as school, friends, and family. Before technology, face to face communication was a normal everyday thing and loneliness was a problem that was rarely talked about or experienced. People went about their day without checking their phone every five minutes or so to see if anyone liked the status they posted or feeling lonely when nobody new liked it. In new studies more and more people have feelings of loneliness and depression. However, more people now use social medias such as Facebook, twitter and instagram. While it is true that technology mainly sites such as Facebook can lead to a person feeling alone, it is also true that it depends on how you use the technology, either to your advantage or as a depressant.
Des Moines Independent Community School District because it was not helping my argument against school uniforms. From the comments received, I decided to write about the argument of clothing as a vital way that students express themselves. The argument is settling up to explain clothing as part of the first amendment and clothing is important for student self-expression. I tried to incorporate the counterparts of advocates of school uniforms. I tried to argue that school uniforms limits freedom of expression and how clothing is being part of expression. I tried to not generalize in order to not affect my logos of the paper. I tried finding a source that explains how clothing is vital for self-expression, but I had a difficult time finding a source. I found sources about clothing, but there were not about school uniforms and how it was important for self-expression. I elaborated about the argument of clothing in order to help with my overall argument of against school
