Life is full of adventures, and new adventures await me every day, all of which are part of my destiny that has been in place for me since birth. Fate affects all of the decisions in my life, it provides me with a new way of accepting my family when making decisions. It determines my success in school impacting all my educational choices, and my personally preferred pathways for my future. Destiny plays a major role in my life, as evident by the effects it has on the decisions I make in life, resulting in everlasting outcomes.
Family is created by destiny and the decisions I take within my family results in a new appreciation for my family as a whole. Family arguments are never fun, but my destiny leaves me no choice. For example when I

Destiny terminated all the plans that had been made by me this summer. Annually at Maple High school, more than two hundred students in grade 12 line up at guidance to change their schedules, just as I did to alter my decision. I thought I had chosen everything correctly for my first semester, and by the end of summer I realized that what I had chosen was not perfect at all. The decisions I made will affect my success as a student and the results are inevitable. School activities that I decide to participate may not always go along with my fate. For example in the years of 2012-2013 all grades in high school were affected by bill 115, extracurricular activities were cancelled and the decisions I made was to try again for the next year. My decision to participate in extracurricular activities would have boosted my performance as a student however the decision was challenged by my fate and I was forced to wait for a new opportunity. Fate had altered my decision, and guided me forward in life, resulting in new changes for my next year in school. The social life at school, may seem to be chosen by me, but in reality fate brings up certain people in my life at certain times. This may change my success as a student because those around me will impact my decision making, and may determine how well I perform as a student. For example my friends, which have been given by fate, personally motivate me, and help me make decisions within school. Their impacts on my life will result in how successful I am as a person. Fate always has its ways of bringing the biggest changes into my
In this section the importance of destiny is again reminded to us. In this story the idea of God chooses your destiny and some of us become kings and some become slaves. It doesn’t matter what you do because you can’t change your destiny God has picked out for you.
Well there is always the fate aspect in everything that occurs in our lives but majority of the outcomes created from the individuals own decisions. It is up to the individual to determine what can occur, if they do one thing then something will be the outcome. A side from that, there is always the possibility of being at the wrong place at the wrong time which can have an affect of on the outcomes of life.
In the end however, fate has a way of getting involved with present people, and stories of a distant past. They can help tell great stories of people who performed great deeds as part of their fated life, however when it comes to the world we truly live in, perhaps something that tells a good story isn’t always the best way to have one’s entire future determined.
Fate is defined as “the determining cause by which things in general are believed to…happen as they do,” “It is “an inevitable…outcome.” (Merriam-Webster) However, fate isn’t the determining cause, it is dependent on karmas. Karmas are derivatives of the invisible Karman particles that are all around the world. (umich.edu) Through ones’ thoughts and actions karmas bond to the soul. (umich.edu) Over time the karmas accumulate and begin to cloud the once pure and truly knowledge soul. Ancient Greek tragedian Sophocles uses the idea of fate as the basis for his tragedy “Oedipus the King.” The character Oedipus ultimately turns out to be an exemplification the notions of Karma and fate.
Fate and free will help to explain why things in life occur. This is clearly shown in the poem “Miniver Cheevy” by E.A. Robinson with the main character Cheevy. His heart desired to be born during the medieval era however he was born too late. Similarly, in O’Henry’s short story “ The Cop and the Anthem” fate and free wills roles were depicted through Soapy, the main characters, plan for the winter. Although these two pieces of literature seem completely different they both come together to show that we have no control over our fate, however, we have our free will allows us to make the best of one's fate.
Marilyn Monroe once said, “I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they 're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.” Is fate subjected to one’s actions or is there another force that intervenes? Two choices to pick from, but each decision will result in a different ending. Most people believe they are free to choose whatever they want, however was fate already predestined that makes people decide their fate regardless of choice? Over the centuries, people have pondered upon the fact that integrity, justice, and moral principles play a role in deciding one’s fate. Does this mean that if Odysseus were to put aside his pride and be humble along his journey home, he would not have gone through all that trouble for anything? Is fate uncontrollable even for the Gods to handle? Forrest Gump is born mental
I believe that one's fate is up to the actions of the individual. If everyone agreed that fate was determined and that you could do nothing to change your own fate life would be a boring, monotone series of events structured out with no change. I believe that every action that you make changes the outcome of your life and the smallest events can have some of the most magnanimous affects on your life. In my experience it is the small decisions that you make that impact the larger decisions that you make later in life. For example a small task such as forgetting to brush your teeth one morning could lead you to not speak up during a discussion in class for fear of your bad breath which could fail to change the course of the discussion and fail to impact someone in a way that could later change the course of their day. Nothing forced you to forget to complete this task you lack of memory or time to do so did. There are over seven billion people that live on this earth and it would be infeasible for there to be a set structured series of events that would transpire for each individual. Free will gives meaning and purpose to one's life. Knowing that one can change their own situation for the better and gives importance to life. Without this life would be meaningless and bland with the events of your life unfolding before you as
The French Revolution was a time when many people sacrificed their lives for their beliefs. As the French Revolution moved on, more people joined the movement and risked their lives. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens is set during this time. Many people who sacrificed their lives for the Revolution felt like it was their fate to do this. This idea of fate is described many times in Dickens’ novel to magnify the story. The theme of fate is prevalent in the novel through the lives of many characters. This theme is used to show how a person is unable to escape their fate because it is already decided. The metaphors and symbols in the novel are greatly used to contribute to the theme of fate through the symbols of knitting, the fountain and water, and the wine.
About 60 years ago, our society here in the United States was different then it is now. African Americans suffered from injustices by law after the abolishment of slavery. Great leaders stood up to these injustices as their lives took precise paths that lead to a revolution they had a vision in. In the first two volumes of the March trilogy by John Lewis and Andrew Aydin, we see their fate's play out in peculiar ways and their dreams of justice eventually fulfilled. Fate and Dreams play key roles in several events in the text that has resulted in society as we know of today. The concept of being “woke” is emphasized throughout the text, Lewis’ destiny had the opportunity to go awry at critical points in the text, and John Lewis and Dr. Martin
It’s easy to say that everything happens for a reason because it allows people to avoid taking responsibility for their, and others actions. Believing in fate gives people the option to “go with the flow” believing that whatever comes belongs to some master plan.. If someone loses their job, they instinctively turn to something greater than them in hopes of aid, but the truth is that it is entirely up to said person to get their life back. There is no outside help in life, we all drift alone throughout it, only certain that one day we’ll die and fade into oblivion. leaving our loved ones to grieve over our departure while we turn to dust, missing the rest of the short lifespan of our insignificant planet in the infinite sea of the universe.
The line, “Fate will unwind as it must,'; (284) not only shows that the people believed they had no control of their destiny, but it is also relevant that Paganism was a significant part of their every day life. There are many illustrations throughout the poem Beowulf, that portray the importance of fate to the people. Often, the word fate was used as a way of showing the outcome of what has already come about.
Fate seems to defy humanity at every turn. A man may have his life planned out to the last second, but then some random force intervenes and he dies the second after he has completed his life plan. Some believe in fate, believing that our lives are predetermined from the moment we are born. Other people believe that everything is random, the result of some god rolling the dice in a universal poker game. Still other people believe that each and every person is in total control of his or her destiny, every step of the way. Who is to say which viewpoint is false? Every culture has a unique perception of the role of fate in our lives, and no group has the "right answer," simply a different answer. Taking into consideration the views of other cultures can help an individual refine his personal viewpoint on this inconceivable subject.
Fate may state what will be in one's life however, how that destiny comes about is a matter of man's own choice. In other words, incidents don't occur because our destinies are written. In the play Macbeth, Shakespeare expertly uses the theme of fate vs. free will and raises the pre-eminent question of which holds power over the characters. In Shakespeare’s tragedy, fate is not the cause of his downfall, his own desires and choices prove to be the deciding factor.
Some say that life is what you make of it. Others are certain that destiny and fate
Webster defines fate as a “ a power thought to control all events and impossible to resist” “a persons destiny.” This would imply that fate has an over whelming power over the mind. This thing called fate is able to control a person and that person has no ability to change it.
