Introduction
The novel, The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Nighttime written by Mark Haddon clearly displays change in all three major characters. Christopher is the protagonist of the story who suffers with everyday challenges due to Asperger's syndrome. We see change in Christopher as he becomes more self-sufficient and mature, Judy Boone displays anger and stress but as the novel progresses she turns into a very patient, caring Mother and Ed Boone becomes a lot more empathetic towards his son.

Paragraph 1
The main character and protagonist of the story, Christopher Boone develops as he becomes a lot more self-sufficient and mature. As we were introduced to Christopher we saw that he was a very independent person but relied on his parents to look after him, wash him and cook his meals. He has special needs but it doesn't stop him to go to London by himself to escape his murderous Dad, so he is trapped into becoming more responsible for himself. This is proven by “I know I can do this because I went to London on my own and solved the mystery of who killed Wellington”. At the very beginning of the story Judy was non-existent and sad but as we discover more information from Judy's letter we realise that she has changed her way of dealing with him . She writes letters to Christopher to express her feelings and emotions. Judy is told to be aggressive and overstrained causing her to often lose her “rag” at Christopher. For example “for that night I just cried and cried and cried” this was because she was very impatient and misunderstanding of Christopher, but as the novel progresses she become more understanding and sorry as she apologises, “I'm so sorry Christopher I really am”. From the beginning to the end of the novel Judy finds a way of changing her way of dealing with her anger and realises how much Christopher really means to
