From the first use of stone tools to the creation of the iPhone, technology has influenced culture and vise versa as culture has helped spark advancements in technology. With that, both technology and culture go hand in hand and once one begins to change, so does the other. In our society, it just so happens that our techonology is so far advanced that pop culture is incorporated in almost every aspect of our lives. Our ideas, perspectives, and attitudes are very much influenced by what we see in our modern day media. For instance, continually we watch shows like, "The Kardashiandns" and "The Bachelor" as they whine and complain, constantly getting in trouble and digging themselves in ridiculous holes. Shows like these lack focus on the importance of intelligence and real world success and in turn, place emphasis on material things, sex appeal, and hard-partying. Without knowing it, society has been a victim of reality T.V and it has effected the way some teens and adults portray themselves. We also have the famous technological advancement, the cell phone. The ability to stream shows, text your friends, and get on social media all at the ease of your fingertips has been given to us but is not necessarily a good thing. Living in the 20th century, we are constantly preoccupied with our phones, counting our "likes" and making sure we have more "followers" than the next guy. We persistently feel the need to be in the loop, looking to our phones to keep us updated on all the lastest news. But in reality, there are hundreds of people that surround us everyday, hundreds of people that we could be physcially talking to face to face.
