In the city of Verona the Capulets and Montagues outbreak into yet another brawl disturbing the streets of fair Verona. Benvolio, one of the Montages, tries to stop the fighting, but gets involved when the reckless, Tybalt, appears on the scene. Citizens outraged by the recurring violence, Prince Escalus, the ruler of Verona, tries to prevent any future conflicts between the two families by commanding death to anyone who disturbs the peace of Verona's streets in the future.

Her father, requests for him to wait a few years, seeing how Juliet is not yet fourteen. He invites him to the festival and feast the Capulets are hosting that night, hoping that Paris will gain Juliet's trust and heart. He then sends one of their assistants to go invite a certain list of people to it also.
Romeo, still upset about Rosaline, and Benvolio still trying to convince him to forget about her and find a more beautiful girl, then run into the servant who has the list of invitations. Benvolio recommends that they attend the feast so Romeo can get his mind off Rosaline and meet other women. Romeo agrees to go, hoping Rosaline will be there.
As the feast begins Romeo and Benvolio approach the Capulet household and put on their masks, when they get inside Romeo notices Juliet from across the room, forgets about Rosaline and falls in love with Juliet, Tybalt sees Romeo gazing at Juliet and gets angry cause Juliet's his cousin and that Montages would sneak into a Capulet party. Romeo and Juliet later speak and with their deep attraction for each other they kiss, without even knowing anything about each other. After they kiss they both find out that they are both from the feuding families but on opposite sides Juliet is a Capulet and Romeo a
