Perseus demonstrates courage, motivation by love, and physical strength in his adventure of killing medusa and the great snake. In his first story of killing Medusa, Perseus reveals his courage and physical strength. Perseus takes one swing with his sword and smoothly cuts through Medusa's neck while keeping his eyes on his shield. "With a single sweep of his sword he cut through her neck and, his eyes still fixed on the shield with never a glance at her, he swooped low enough to seize the head"(204). Perseus' action of cutting off Medusa's head with one swing highlights how physically strong he is.
