Before healthcare was only for people who qualified for it now, with Obama Care, everyone is allowed healthcare, which is both good and bad. It is bad because people who work hard for what they have are allowed healthcare; however for people who don’t work are allowed free healthcare, which is paid for by the taxes of the people who work hard for themselves. The U.S. economy focuses way more on trying to make sure everyone is “equal” and abiding by their rules and their expectations. The economy should worry less about who a person is with or where they came from, but why America is in the top ranks of per-pupil spending for healthcare per each capita. (Brownstein.) Through studies it is proven that teens in America are in the top ranks for teen pregnancy and obesity. (Brownstein.) Due to the high numbers with teen pregnancy and obesity, Americans education systems are now showing less impressive results and make the society fail as a whole. Rather than the economy worrying about why our teenage society are showing less than great education results, they’re more concerned with the weight of teens, why they’re getting bigger, why teen pregnancy is increasing so much. Under the family and medical leave act people in same sex marriages are now allowed to leave their job to go take care of a spouse with a serious health condition. (Gale.) All eligible employees no matter who they love or where they came from can get equal healthcare protection without fear of losing their jobs. Before the definition of spouse did not include those who were in the same sex marriages, but now with the FMLA protections, it is bases on where the marriage was taken not who you are married to.
