During the time period of the Holocaust over 5,700,000 died or were killed. The Holocaust is a very well known genocide, under Hitler's power, thousands of Germans, and German troops used all of their power to exterminate as many Jews as possible. In Elie Wiesel's writing, he portrays how conflict influenced the way people thought and their actions which had an effect on their experiences during the holocaust. During the time of being in the camp, the Nazis way of hurting the Jews resulted in them turning against each other.
