How Does Amir Redeem Himself

Would you risk everything you have just to redeem yourself for a second chance? In the book the “Kite Runner” the main character Amir goes back to his home country of Afghanistan to find his brothers lost son. Also he meet danger around every corner as the Taliban are there. In, Khaled Hosseini’s novel, the Kite Runner, teaches the reader in second chances through Amir going back to Afghanistan , Baba’s secret life with his two sons.
First, In the end did Amir really get his second chance? When Amir was a child he did some very sketchy and dishonorable things. Which lead to putting him and his best friend on edge, was the time when Amir witnessed his raping. Also putting family last in his mind, even making some of his family to leave. That's why he takes the last chance he has to redeem himself by going back to Pakistan. That is present in the scene …show more content…

Baba is the father of Amir and has you read the book, Amir’s best friend Hassan. throughout the beginning of the book Baba lives with his son Amir, his brother Ali and Hassan which was his secret kid hidden from Amir and Hassan himself. In the book when you find this crazy twist you really put together the pieces of Baba as a character. You really see the way he tries to redeem himself from the bad things that he's done by trying to give the life Hassan should have had. Like giving him great gifts like surgery for his face and always brought him with to all the movies etc. “Well, Dr. Kumar said, my job is to fix things on people’s bodies. Sometimes their faces” (Hosseini 44). Here Hosseini gives us an example of how thoughtful Baba was even though he had to hide that he was Hassan’s father. I shows that even though he was never his father in the outside world, but on the inside he just wanted the best for his son. This gave Baba a second chance at redeeming himself by caring for his true son behind the scenes, and trying to make the best out of a bad
