Photographers use many techniques like enhancing lighting or using specialized filters and lenses to set the scene for films. Photographers also use computer softwares to crop, rotate, correct colors and overall modify them in various ways. On an average day of a photographer before you start you should check your equipment once or twice to make sure you have everything like fresh memory cards and fully charged batteries before the session starts. You want to also set up the equipment to be prepared for a happy customer. Discuss with the client what will happen during the session so everybody involved knows what to expect during breaks and capturing images. You want to think about the lighting, aperture, F-stops and what the background
...el through time and show newer generations of the events of the past and the rich history of a particular country. With the use of all the technology over the years, photography has now become a major part of everyday life and the photographer behind the camera.
Photography has been around for nearly 200 years and has advanced dramatically with the new technology. In 1826, when the first photograph was taken photography was a very basic art form, but soon after photographers figured out how to manipulate their photos. In today’s society, it is almost unheard of to look at photographs that are raw and unedited, but has it always been this way? Dating back to the first photograph in 1826 by Joseph Nicephore Niepce, photography seemed to be raw, but only a few decades after those photographers discovered they could alter their photos to make them more appealing (“Harry Ransom Center”). Over the past 200 years photos of all different subjects have been manipulated through history and technology seems to be the culprit.
What do you think about when watching a film? Do you focus on the characters' good looks or the dialogue? Or do you go behind the scenes and think about what made the film? Maybe, it's even a combination of all three. No matter what comes to mind first, an important part of any good movie will be what you see. A camera and good director or cinematographer is needed to make that possible. Different directors and cinematographers will use different camera techniques to make you focus on what you see. Camera techniques show emphasis in films, because they make you focus more on situations and people. They are especially important in Darren Aronofsky’s Requiem for a Dream.
Documentary photographers valued the clarity and sharpness of the images as they believed that photography's mission is to inform rather than inspire or express personal feelings, while pictorialists believed that photography should be used as a tool to express beauty rather that the fact.
In Rachel Handel’s article, “Picture Imperfect” she states how digital manipulation of photography has become so common in today’s society, that it is a “routine practice” (Handel) for today’s early and late photographers. If the routine practice keeps happening and growing at the rate it is now, who is to say that photographs without editing will just one day disappear? It is wrong and needs to stop before more damage is done. There are even jobs out there that employ people to lie about the practice of photography. The jobs employ the workers to “touch-up photographs”
As you can see, there is a big world waiting for you to capture and mold its image. Whether you just want to remember that sunset on your honeymoon, your little one’s first steps or even if you click your shutter at everything you pass… the right equipment certainly helps. Whatever equipment you use, with good lighting and attention to such details as film type and speed, distance from subject, rule of thirds, and an eye for what you want, you can make beautiful photos that you and yours will cherish for generations to come.
A huge part of film and how film is made is how directors control physical elements of filming to display themes in their movies. This results in a powerful way of expression oneself through film. This can be done in many ways, including editing. Editing is taking footage and crafting that footage together to make the film and directors can use various techniques to make the best version of a film possible.

Have you ever seen a painting or picture that captivates you and directly stirs up emotion within you? More than likely, you have. Usually, viewers merely observe the picture and enjoy the way it looks and how it makes them feel. But, have you ever asked yourself, “why?” What about the picture makes it pleasing to the viewer? With each strategy the photographer uses creates their own touch and passion that floods all over the picture. The emotional connection nearly goes unnoticed for when the picture is well photographed, the viewers experience the sensation in their subconscious. This is one of the most powerful tools that a photographer holds in their hands. If one can become a master of manipulating how the photo affects its viewers, the said photographer can potentially maneuver people’s minds and thoughts with one click of a button. The time spent with my mentor has opened up the door for me to tap into that power though the use of background, focus, shutter speed, angles, and most importantly, lighting. Even with all these techniques, the person behind the camera must remember that creativity must be at the forefront of all operations. Caleno (2014), when writing about the basics of capturing a beautiful moment in a picture commented, “If we want to be creative we must drop these pre-conceptions and start looking at things from a small child’s innocence.”
Photography has an amazing process, no matter if you are using a film camera, or a digital camera. The principle of the camera is that light passes through a small hole, projects an image from the brighter side of the opening to a surface on the dimmer side. The process of making photos, or durable images, is by recording light. Or, it can be created by making images from other electromagnetic radiations. Photography has two ways of capturing photos. It can be made chemically, with a light-sensitive material such as photographic film. Although it could be done electronically by the use of an image sensor. The lens is used to focus the light that is reflected from objects into a real image on a light-sensitive surface inside a camera, during a timed exposure...
Computer technology invades the film industry. The existence of computers have aided in the production of genres of film ranging from action movie special effects, to cartoon animation and claymation. Computer Generated Imagery, better known as CGI, assists filmmakers in many ways. An image can be made two-dimensional from a three-dimensional scene, camera angles can be altered to make a character seem larger and thus more important than its surrounding bodies, and colors can be brightened or neutralized, among other things (Parsons, Oja 1). Without the aid of computers, movies would not have the ability to be what they are today.
The ability to alter images can open creative outlets for photographers and In turn, produce better quality work. Any photog...
