Have you ever wondered what the world would be like if cars did the driving? Driverless cars don’t require a human taking the wheel. Many inventors aspire to make the simplest task easier and these vehicles is just another step. This could either be fantastic or a complete disaster, but the risk is worth taking if it could benefit society today. Driverless cars are much needed for the future of society because they save lives and allow mobility for disabled people and the elderly. The world has learned throughout history that humans aren’t the best drivers to have on the road. In fact, there are over 30,000 Americans killed each year on the road, most due to human error, costing about $230.6 billion. However, Self Driving Cars can reduce this statistic. Since these cars will be connected to a gps and navigation system, they will be forced to drive the speed limit. Most senior citizens refrain from driving after the age of 70, which is still about 10-15 more years of their life. This has been very difficult because they can’t physically drive. However, the Self Driving Cars can eliminate this issue by just having them sit back and relax while it does the driving. Also, these people have to pay for cabs and taxis that wastes a bunch of their hard earned money instead of having their own car. It may not seem like a lot, but it builds up very fast after they are forced to do it countless amount times. Finally, it can give them a feeling of independence when they are on their own and driving by themselves. Many people do feel like they are being babied and can’t do anything for themselves, but this vehicle can make their life a little more free. Thus, these cars will not only get the disabled and elderly places quickly, but also change the way they feel about
