How Did Zeus Influence Greek Mythology

Greek mythology originated around 700 BC and the stories are still being told to this day. It has greatly influenced and created different styles literature and art all around the world. Greek mythology is the tale of many gods, goddesses, and their descendants. In this mythology the deities or main gods were said to live on Mount Olympus. They had the same human like features, but they could change into animals or other creatures. The gods were said to rule over every aspect of human lives. They controlled everything from physical objects, to the heavens and the underworld,and even different emotions.

The beginning of Pandora’s story does not actually involve her in any way. It begins in an argument or battle between Zeus,god of the skies, and Prometheus. Prometheus was the god of forethought and crafty counsel, his job was to create all of mankind out of clay. This obviously made him a very manipulative god. One day Prometheus stole the most sacrificial part of the gods feast and gave it to the humans. He also stole the gift of fire, which Zeus had withheld, and gave it to the humans. Zeus’ punishment for him and to balance their acquisition was to create confusion and misfortune for humanity. The woman was not created by Prometheus, even though that was his role as a god.
