Research paper The Roman Empire has always been looked at as the most powerful and influence empire in history though the modern era world has seen another nation take on that role, England. But where did they get there influence? The truth is, most of the English culture derives from Rome, the art, entertainment, books, architecture and in a way, even Governmental. From the Britons first introduction to the Romans, to the Anglo-Saxon rule, all the way to modern day, The Ancient Roman Empire have molded this nation.

Surprisingly the first focus for the influence on Britain was to build an interconnecting road system to create unity between the scattered tribes. (Wasson, Roman Britian) This has obviously affected more than Britain but it introduced a new topic for them, unity. They then would push their religion, Christianity, on to the Britons which would stick with the culture then all the way to modern day England. (Wasson, Roman Britian) Now with Briton having unity the Romans would then strive to build big cities to start the trade and global power they knew Britain could be. (Wasson, Roman Britian) Though all they strived for would be taken by the Anglo- Saxons hundreds of years later the potent culture found a way to influence the war ridden tribes that invaded them. (Ibeji) Though it wouldn’t be Globally recognized till the rule of the Duchy of Normandy. This would be the birth of the Kingdom of England and kick off modern day England culture and society. (Frere)This is where the architectural and entertainment such as plays, art and stories would begin. (Frere) Not only would we see Roman influence but also influence from countless other countries around the world that would mold Britain into a world power. Now after the Tyrannical rule of the Kingdom of England the British would an almost Ancient Rome type of Government, a Republic that would affirm itself as a strong Nation.
