In Romeo and Juliet so many people made bad choices that caused the tragic ending of the play. But today i'm going to choose the parents of the Capulet family and my reasons are they threw the party, rushed the marriage, and ignored Juliet’s feelings.
The first mistake the parents made was throwing the party. Granted, they had no idea that Montagues would come, but it still introduced Romeo and Juliet causing pretty much every death in the play. For example, Lord Capulet said, “Welcome, gentlemen! I have worn a visor and could tell a whispering tale in a fair lady’s ear, such as would please. ‘Tis gone, ‘Tis gone, ‘Tis gone. You are welcome, gentlemen!” (pg.923) Basically Lord Capulet is welcoming anyone into his party as long as he doesn’t notice them. This is how Romeo eventually meets Juliet. Another example is when Lord Capulet said, “Therefore be patient; take no note of him. It is my will, the which if thou respect, show a fair presence and put off these frowns…” (pg.925) After what Lord Capulet just said led to Romeo and Juliet falling in love and wanting to see each other again.

The second mistake the parents made was rushing Juliet and Paris marriage.
Juliet maybe should have told her parents that her and Romeo were already married but that's not the point. Lady and Lord Capulet answers Juliet after she agrees to marrying Paris and said, Lady Capulet - “No, not till Thursday. There is time enough.” Lord Capulet - “Go, nurse, go with her. We’ll to church tomorrow.” (pg.995) If I were Juliet I would've kept quiet about talking to Paris. Another example is when Lord Capulet said, “Go waken Juliet; go and trim her up. I’ll go and chat with Paris. Hie, make haste, make haste! The bridegroom he is come already: Make haste, I say.” (pg.1000) Lord Capulet was rushing people to get Juliet ready to marry someone she didn’t want to even
marry. The third mistake the parents made was ignoring Juliet’s feelings. Instead of the parents actually listening to their daughter, they did what they thought was right and that is what led to her drinking the potion early. Here's an example Juliet said, “Good father, I beseech you on my knees, Hear me with patience but to speak a word.” Lord Capulet - “Hang thee, young baggage! Disobedient wrench! I tell thee what - get thee to church a’ Thursday, Or never after look me in the face.” (pg.985) Juliet begs Lord Capulet to listen to her but he doesn’t want to look at her until she marries Paris on Thursday. Another example is when Juliet said, “O sweet my mother, cast me not away! Delay this marriage for a month, a week;” Lady Capulet - “Talk not to me, I’ll not speak a word. Do as thou wilt, for I have done with thee.” (pg.986) Juliet tries to talk to her mother only to find out her mother is done with her. In conclusion, Romeo and Juliet had multiple bad choices that were made such as throwing the party, rushing the marriage, and ignoring Juliet’s feelings. Changing any one of these points could have very well changed the direction the play went in to. Leaving the reader to think “what if” good choices were made in this play, and would there had been a different outcome.
The two were too young to be married. Juliet wasn’t even thirteen before she got marriage. Maybe the two did not fully love each other. Maybe they were just infatuated with each other. The two could maybe fall out of love with each other later and divorce. The marriage basically helped cause the death of the two. If he would told the two families that he married Romeo and Juliet, he would not have had to create his potion plan. Without the potion plan Juliet never fake died which meant that the couple would have stayed alive. If he had not married them Juliet would’ve married Paris. Even though she did not love Paris she would have still been living.
Romeo and Juliet is set in an Italian city named Verona. Romeo is the son of of Montague, a powerful family patriarch, and Juliet is the daughter of Capulet, another powerful patriarch. There’s one problem with this. Capulet and Montague hate each other. There’s another problem. The story was set in a time where men were thought of as superior to women. It was not unusual for a father to marry his daughter to another man just for the political status. This makes it impossible for Romeo to marry Juliet peacefully. In today’s world, Capulet’s actions would not be regarded as good parenting, so that is why, in our eyes, Capulet seems like a bad father, but there is more to his bad side. He tried to marry Juliet off to a kinsman of the prince just for the political status, but his bad parenting also harmed Juliet in another way. He let his anger get the best of him in most cases, and by doing this, it made Juliet keep secret from him. So, by being stubborn, self-absorbed, and hot-tempered, he influenced Romeo and Juliet to kill themselves.
Since it was a Capulet house, Romeo was not supposed to be there. If Romeo had not gone to the party, he would have never met Juliet. Lastly, there is Mercutio who caused Romeo banishment by dying in a fight. If none of these problems had occurred, then Romeo and Juliet could have had a happy marriage.eventually.
Shakespeare's play of “Romeo and Juliet” is well known, and leaves the audience asking: Who is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet? Most of the play’s characters closely related to Romeo and Juliet carry some responsibility, but there are three characters or groups who had the greatest influence on the story’s outcome. Friar Laurence could be blamed for marrying them and keeping it secret. Juliet’s nurse encouraged Romeo’s pursuit of Juliet, even helping Juliet sneak out to marry. Last and most deserving of blame, however, are the parents, Lord and Lady Capulet and Lord and Lady Montague. If not for the family feud and hatred, Romeo and Juliet would’ve lived, not tasting the bittersweetness of death.
If Lord Capulet had not moved the wedding to the next day, then Romeo would have gotten the letter he was originally supposed to receive and Friar Laurence’s plan would have worked out effortlessly. In addition, the father would never allow Juliet to marry Romeo considering he is a Montague, the rival of their family. This made the plan for Juliet to marry Romeo even harder. In the play, Romeo and Juliet, many characters were to blame and some to be pardoned. Friar Laurence and Lord Capulet were the most responsible for the problems Romeo and Juliet face.
Many choices contributed to the end of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo's choice to go to the Capulet party where he met Juliet was one example of their choice. He knows that his family, the Montagues, hate the Capulets, Juliet’s family. Still, he goes to his party fully aware of what might happen. Romeo is aware that if caught by a Capulet, he would be facing immediate death....
In the play, no one seems to know how the feud between the warring families happened, but it is kept alive for years because of arrogance, impunity and lack of understanding. Caught up in these troubles, both sets of parents don’t seem to pay much attention to their children or what they are doing. However, the Capulets are more to blame than the Montagues. If Lady Capulet had been more caring, or like ...
Therefore, Romeo and Juliet knew of the consequences their marriage would entail since their families dislike each other. Yet, they still took that risk and got married. Afterwards, their secret marriage caused a big problem for Juliet. Lord Capulet was unaware of Juliet’s marriage to Romeo, so he arranged for his daughter to marry Paris.
Shakespeare has been know for many plays but one of his famous one is “Romeo and Juliet” Which has two teens from rivalling families who fell in love with each other but through misunderstandings and not well thought out plans by their mentors led to both Romeo and Juliet’s death by suicide. There were many ways that these “Star-crossed lovers” could avoided their fate with more thought out ideas and bring more people into their plans but untimely they died from plans from their mentors. What is the Relationship between Romeo and Juliet parents? Well Romeo’s relationship with his parents is they care for him very deeply. His mother was very relieved when he was not at the quarreled in the market. “O, where is Romeo?/Saw him today?/Right glad
Because of miscommunication, Romeo and Juliet’s parents are not informed of their teenager’s conflicts, therefore making them useless. An example of miscommunication between the adults and adolescents is when Romeo locks himself in his room depressed. Lord Montague is deeply concerned about Romeo’s seclusive ways, saying he is “to himself, so secret”. Lord and Lady Montague want to “learn from whence his sorrows grow” so they can help him with his troubles (I.i.155-163). Because Romeo alienates himself from his parents, not telling them he is heartbroken from Rosaline, his parents do not know why he is upset. If he would have had told his parents of his recent heartbreak, the Montague’s could have helped him resolve this issue. However, this does not happen and the parents end up being futile. While it is not the Montague’s fault that Romeo does not ...
Juliet’s parents were the cause of Romeo and Juliet’s death because they forced marriage onto Juliet and threatened her when she refused to marry Paris. Document B, “ Think of marriage now”, is the scene where Juliet’s mother, Lady Capulet,
Many kids blame their parents for things like forgetting their lunch or being late to basketball practice and it is not a valid excuse. But when someone has very controlling parents, their parents can be the ones to blame. Therefore, Lord Capulet contributes to the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet because he was arranging her marriage and when Juliet didn't want to get married she was threatened by her father. Lord Capulet told Paris, "A Thursday let it be-a Thursday, tell her, She shall be married to this noble earl." (3. 4 23-25). Capulet and Paris were planning the wedding without the consent or presence of Juliet. This angered Juliet because she was already married and she did not want to marry Paris. Another reason why Capulet caused
Although there are many factors to the tragedy of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, some are greater than others. The major contributor to the downfall of these lovers was Capulet, Juliet's own father. He brought upon the death of Juliet by forcing her to marry Paris, separating her from her Romeo, and rejecting her.
Both she and Romeo knew that if anyone of their families found out about their love, they would be separated or killed. Juliet shows this worry when Romeo shows up at her balcony after the Capulet Ball. She says to him with warning “And the place death … if any of my kinsmen find thee here” (Romeo and Juliet 2. 2. 62-65) This shows the depth of the secrecy of their love. If Romeo had been found on that night, he would have been killed without hesitation from their kinsmen. This would have led to an even bigger feud, and Juliet would most likely have been ostracized, meaning treated as an outcast, for loving a Montague. Even though they both know this, they agree to get married. Friar knows this could be bad as well, but he agrees to marry them in secret as he says quickly “You shall not stay alone, Till Holy Church incorporate two in one” (Romeo and Juliet 2. 6. 36-37.) This secretive act is expedited because Juliet is not wanting to marry Paris, but knows that her family doesn’t want her to marry anyone except for
In William Shakespeare’s tragic play Romeo and Juliet, two young lovers from opposing households make impetuous decisions which ultimately lead to the suicide of both lovers (Romeo and Juliet). Juliet, one lover, has mentors that fail her in the play because of their ignorance of her emotional needs and growing independence as a teenager. These mentors are Juliet’s former wet nurse and guardian, the Nurse, Juliet’s mother, Lady Capulet, and Juliet’s father, Lord Capulet.
