If Romeo and Juliet had survived would they have been happy? The answer to that is no, they probably would not have been happy. First of all, there is still the problem that Romeo is banished, and even if Friar Lawrence's pleas to allow Romeo back into Verona had prevailed, the two lovers are then faced with their parents' anger. Undoubtedly, this would put a strain on Romeo and Juliet's relationship, with each of them trying to please their parents and be together at the smee time. Secondly, Romeo's mother passed away due to her grief of Romeo's banishment. It would be hard for Romeo to stay with Juliet knowing that his mother died as a consequence of his love for Juliet. Lastly, Romeo and Juliet's personalities are too different for
Love, what a small word for being one of the most powerful and complicated emotion someone can receive. Love grants people an experience of other emotions such as, sadness, happiness, jealousy, hatred and many more. It is because of those characteristics that love creates that make it so difficult to define the emotion in a few words. In the play, “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare, two star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, defy their parents in hopes of being able to be together and live a happy life. The characters in “Romeo and Juliet” show the characteristics of love through their words and actions throughout the play. The attributes the characters illustrate throughout the play are rage, loyalty, and sorrow.
If Romeo and Juliet never fell in love, then they never would have killed themselves to be together. Their deaths helped Lord Montague and Lord Capulet to settle their differences and end the feud between the two houses. Therefore, without their lives, the feud would have never ended. This theme is important to the story because the unnecessary fighting is causing many casualties, and disturbing the peace of Verona.
The marriage eventually let to the setting up Juliet's fake death. There was also Benvolio who took Romeo to the party to meet women even though he had just broken up with someone. Lastly, there is Mercutio who caused Romeo banishment by dying in a fight. If none of these problems had occured, then Romeo and Juliet could have had a happy marriage...eventually.
The Portrayal of Romeo and Juliet's Relationship in the Play. In my opinion, the relationship between Romeo and Juliet is portrayed. in lots of different ways. It is portrayed as tragic, united, shows.
If Romeo had restrained himself from killing Tybalt, or waited a day before killing himself after hearing about Juliet's death, it. might have ended happily, and if Romeo didn't have such deep feelings. his love for Juliet wouldn't have existed in the first place. Juliet, like Romeo, shouldn't have rushed into marrying each other, and. Juliet said, "It was too rash, too unadvis'd, too sudden.
Have you ever asked yourself the question, what makes for a healthy relationship? Romeo and Juliet give us a good picture of what a healthy relationship should look like as they fall in love. In this story of Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare depicts a healthy relationship through Romeo and Juliet by the act of being faithful and being compassionate and also making sacrifices
In Romeo and Juliet, the tragic love story, emotion is also surrounded with both the protagonists and brought themselves a tragic ending. Early in the story, Romeo and Juliet made an unacceptable forbidden decision which created a path towards their graves. After knowing themselves as the enemy of their household, the two teenagers yet fall in love with each other. Their idiotic actions of love have brought themselves a road to death at the end. Is unworthy to cost your life by your foolish decision. Furthermore, Romeo made another decision out of momentary anger and caused himself a disastrous problem. After Mercutio's death, out of anger Romeo duel with Tybalt and demands to slay him. After his revenge, he brought a death sentence on himself if he is ever found within the city again.
Just as the Friar says in the beginning of the Shakespeare play, Romeo and Juliet, “Wisely and slowly, they stumble that run fast.” (II.iii.94). this was a sign of foreshadowing for for the death of the lovers, Romeo and Juliet. Even though fate was a factor that had contributed to a tragic end, there was also personal choice involved, and ultimately, the story may have had a different ending if it weren’t for the flaws of the lovers and their inability to have a grip on reality in dire circumstances. Over the course of the play, the lovers from the conflicting households have not matured and remain rather static in development. Furthermore, in this tragedy, the only son of the montages remains rather childlike, Juliet still seems immature and their relationship over all seems more like a play act on lover rather then something mature and sustainable. Overall, from start to finish, Romeo and Juliet were living in the moment, being absurd and silly rather then focusing on the future and trying to work problems out effectively.
Romeo and Juliet was one of the best poems of its time, and for decades it has been known as the best love poem, others make arguments however saying that it’s quite the opposite. What was once known as the poem of love is now known as the poem of tragic love. This is apparently a story about how Romeo and Juliet are from different factions, and there groups forbid to go see each other. However, Romeo would still sneak out to go see his beloved Juliet, and they just decided to end the fighting, and proposed a plan. Juliet ends up dying, and all is lost for Romeo. The funny thing to note here is that Romeo was in love with someone else before Juliet actually, but the problem with that relationship is that she didn’t like him back. So we can all make the assumption that Romeo, is indeed trying to settle down with a women for his life.
Due to the secret marriage, Romeo and Juliet tragically die. Had Romeo and Juliet announced their wedding, they could still be alive. Juliet would not have had to fake her death to get out of the arranged marriage with Paris if she had told her parents about her and Romeo. Romeo does not receive the information of the Friar and Juliet's plan in time, and he kills himself in anguish over her death. As Juliet awakes from her slumber, she sees Romeo dead. Juliet then kills herself in bereavement over Romeo's death. Had Romeo and Juliet announced their wedding, then none of these tragic events ever would have happened as a result of their parents dispute.
Techniques and Devices Shakespeare Uses to Show the Power and Beauty of the Love Between Romeo and Juliet
Romeo and Juliet is a romantic love story about a young lad named Romeo who has fallen in love with Lady Juliet, but is unable to marry her because of a long-lasting family feud. The play ends in the death of both these characters and the reunion of the friendship between the families. Romeo is in love with Juliet, and this is a true, passionate love (unlike the love Paris has for her or the love Romeo had for Rosaline) that nothing can overcome, not even the hatred between their two families that is the reason for the death of their two children. Throughout the play, Shakespeare thoroughly explores the themes of both true love and false love and hatred. Without either of these themes, the play would loose its romantic touch and probably would not be as famous as it is today.
Even though life may hand us tragedies, hopefully in the end we can always take at least a little positive out of the situation. Life hands everyone challenges, the only difference between them is how we handle and deal with them, plus if we can always leave with a new outlook. Tragedies even such as Romeo and Juliet can still have positive legacies left through them. Humans tend to focus only on the negative, yet no matter what the situation, we should always be able to take something from it. This tragedy in general may topple over many tragedies, yet we can still name positive messages about the human spirit. In Romeo and Juliet, three positive messages about the human spirit that it portrays are love, hope and endurance.
In the first scene of Act one there is the servants Sampson and Gregory talking about sexual love. As they both talk about taking girls virginity. They both sound arrogant as they talk as if it is through experience. To them the thoughts of taking a girl’s virginity seems a joking matter.
Two rivals who were always told to show hate to each other unexpectedly fall in meaningful love. In the city of Verona, there are two rich families. The families are the Capulets and the Montagues. Romeo comes from the Montague family and wasn’t expecting to fall in love with Juliet, a Capulet, that night.
