The Founder is based on the real story of how McDonald’s became to be the one of the biggest fast food chains in the entire world. According to an article from ThoughCo.com, there is approximately 36, 000 restaurants worldwide. There is a McDonald’s in more than 100 countries serving about 69 million people every single day. It is crazy to imagine that they started out with one little restaurant in San Bernardino, California. The question now is who achieved their American Dream in the end? I say this because most people don’t know the real story behind the beginnings of the franchise McDonald’s. Mark and Dick McDonald were the two brothers that started it all. They started off working as truck drivers for Columbia Studios. Ray Kroc was to say the least struggling as a door to do salesman because everything that he was selling was not useful. It wasn’t until the day that McDonald’s ordered 8 ice cream mixers, that Ray Kroc finally got the break he was looking for. He couldn’t get the idea out of his mind that it could be so much bigger, so he convinced the brothers to let him help with expanding the franchise. Come to find out the brothers had already tried and failed but that didn’t stop Ray Kroc. He was so persuasive that the brothers let him help with the condition that he would sign a contract and abide by that contract. So, with all that settled he went out and talked to many city officials to let him build and many turned him down until he got to Des Plaines, and here could build a McDonald’s.
