You wake up one morning and realize today is the day you start what you have dreamed about since you were a child: to learn the true meaning of horseback riding. You now know that horseback riding is not only a summer camp fun activity, but it can also be a competitive sport across the nation that involves a lot of equipment, gates to learn, proper posture, and mistakes to learn from.

A saddle is used to keep the rider on top of the horse’s back. There are two main parts to the saddle: the gurth and the stirrups. The gurth is what holds the saddle on the horse, and the stirrups are what keep the rider on the saddle. Another important peice of equipment includes the bridle. The bridle is the multi part piece of eqipment that makes sure the rider is in control of the horse. Two main parts include the bit and the reins. There are many kinds of bits, but they all serve the same purpose: to make sure that the horse gets a clear signal from the rider in order to do something. On the other hand, the reins are the main steering wheels of the bridle. Riens are what the rider holds while riding to give the horse signals based on what the rider wants the horse to do.

However, optional equipment includes a whip, special boots, and a tounge tie. It just really depends on what kind of personality the
Mistakes include unclear signals, not talking to the horse loud enough, or not riding in gates properly. Accidents are the result of a mistake. Accidents of riding involve losing balance/ your stirrup, the horse galloping, bucking, or even the rider falling off entierly. Aviod these mistakes and acciedents by simply listening to your intructor. Your instructor cares about your safety, and just want to teach you. So listen to them, and there will be no problem. But if you want to call yourself a proffessinal rider, you must have fallen off a horse at least 3 times and got back
