Karisma returns the affection to the little girl, who now sweeps her painted, pink fingertips across the horse's withers.The motion appears to soothe both friends.” Amelia Grace is a child suffering from anxiety, minimal self esteem, and other disorders.
I am going to raise money to help pay for horses and an arena for kids with disabilities or who have witnessed deaths or been in or witnessed a bad accident to be able to get to know a horse, ride it, and have fun.This cause is significant because some people aren’t able to afford to have a horse but it would help them with their disabilities and struggles to help and overcome them.

Jessica exhibits this trait by reacting in an odd way as she faces the shocking news about her leg. The day after the accident, she wakes up in the hospital not knowing why she is there or what day it even is. As she opens her eyes, she sees her mother with red puffy eyes and the doctors tell her the horrific news. As she learns that she has no right foot, ankle or shin, Jessica sits on the hospital bed and is in complete and utter shock. Her mother breaks down, letting out a rallying cry while her teenage daughter does not react in the slightest way possible. The main character is simply at a loss of words and has no time to process what has just been told to her. Consequently, Jessica lacks major emotional response while she is told the news about her loss and all of the barriers she must conquer. In another section of the novel, Jessica returns back to school and is trying her hardest to obtain her original routine. As she walks into the school, she is bombarded with numerous questions and condolences. I have always wanted to be a Special Education teacher. I started deciding what I wanted to do in the eighth grade. This was also around the time I was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome. Asperger’s is an autism spectrum disorder; people with it show difficulties in social interactions, and reading body language. For me, I have trouble making friends and having age appropriate conversations. It is difficult to read people’s emotions, which sometimes gets me into trouble. I have been given the gift to be able to help teach other children with special needs how to ride horses, and also learn about how the horses communicate with these riders differently then a “normal” person. Through working with Ian I have been able to obtain a better understanding of my career goals.
For centuries people have enjoyed horses in various ways. From racing Thoroughbreds to western pleasure, the equine sport can be observed around the world. But, behind the glitz and glamour of horse shows, there is also a dark side. Nowadays, some horse people will use harmful shortcuts to get a leg up in competition. “ Pushed beyond their limits, most horses are subjected to cocktails of legal and illegal drugs intended to mask injuries and artificially enhance performance.” (PETA). Grand champion! I was riding Fancy, a paint horse, at the Dallas County Fair in the Horsemanship class. In this class, I had to complete a pattern and it was judged on how well each horse and rider completed the pattern. The judge felt that Fancy and I performed best and awarded me with a big purple ribbon and a trophy with a horse on top. At the end of the fair, all of the grand champions were announced before the races. That was the final reward for successfully showing a horse in competitions.
The cowboy climbed aboard and gave a wild yell. The men holding the head of the horse let go and jumped back. Almost immediately the horse began bucking. The cowboy stayed with him though. If I was granted $10,000 to benefit my community I would use it to make a public babysitting center. It would be available throughout the whole day making it easier for families to drop their kids off at any given time. The prices would be made very affordable, made specifically for single parents that cant afford full-time babysitters like any other family could. The babysitting center would have different rooms designed for a variety of ages so that each kid would enjoy their experience there.
The unicorn is a mythological figure. Closely related to the horse, it is uniqueness comes in the form of a long horn located on the center of its forehead. In Laura's menagerie, it is unlike the other figures. In fact, Laura refers to the unicorn as being "freakish." (109) Her characterization of the unicorn reflects how she feels about herself. It is because of its uniqueness that Laura chose to identify with it. She creates a world with her figurines in which the abnormal coexists with the normal. When Jim, the gentleman caller, inquires about the unicorn being lonely, she replies, "He stays on a shelf with some horses that don't have horns and all of them seem to get along nicely together."(101) In her imaginary world no one judges her because of her limp and it is that world she is capable of coping in. Laura's characterization of the figurines hints at her inner desires to be able to deal with the outside world and become less "freakish." Depression, denial, and guilt are all the components of mourning through death. This quote, relates to the thought that everything one experiences is associated with their environment. Iona and the mare experience two different environments. For Iona, it’s adjusting to a life without his son. The little mare lives a life away from the farms in a gloomy city. Iona places the little mare in a similar scenario he’s in, as if she can respond. Although she can’t, the horse’s compassion is visible once again. “The little mare munches, listens, and breathers on her master’s hands.” The healing power of the mare was the key to easing Iona’s suffering. When Iona couldn’t find a sense of closure through the communication with human beings he finally opens his eyes to realize the one listener he had, was his little white mare. He pours his sorrows out to her and not only did she show compassion by hearing his every word, she physically comforts him.
