There are 5 areas of performance in Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) that we consider as below standard. First, there is lack of public seats. As passengers need to arrive to the airport earlier before they can get in the plane, they need a seat to take a rest. In this moment, with limited number of seats, some of the passengers may only sit on the floor, especially when the flights are affected by the bad weather, many passengers will be stranded. Second, the terminal sign in terms of trolley instruction. Usually passengers carrying bulky baggage to walk around in the airport, so trolley will be use to reduce part of the baggage weight. After the use of trolley, passengers always put it aside as they can’t see any sign that tell …show more content…
Although there are cinema, learning center and virtual golf for entertainment, these cannot fulfill some of the passengers’ want. It is because these kinds of entertainments are more likely suit for children and adults. Therefore, passengers would be boring if they only play with their phone when those entertainments are not suitable for them. In order to maintain HKIA competitiveness, here are the improvement actions for the 5 below standard areas. First, HKIA can increase the number of seats. We saw that there are some spaces outside the express train in terminal 1. In order to avoid passengers standing for few hours to wait, we think this space is suitable to add seats. It is because that place is comparatively quiet, and the usage of the space would not affect many passengers. Second, HKIA can add signs to instruct where should the trolley put. As almost every passenger will use trolley, it is important to tell them where they should put the trolley in. so HKIA can add the sign on the instruction board or everywhere as passengers can see. The sign could be a drawing of trolley, just put the sign as clear as possible like the toilet …show more content…
In each month, HKIA can think of a topic about Hong Kong or traditional Chinese by using projector to project the video on floor or ceiling. While all passengers in HKIA can see it, this method also does not occupy valuable space in HKIA. Furthermore, HKIA can set up website which includes the Q&A and quizzes about the video, so this can increase interaction and passengers can know more Hong Kong. Fourth, HKIA can construct a better smoking area. Originally, it is an open smoking area, so we suggest that HKIA can build a closed smoking area for the sake of everyone. Therefore, the smoker can have a better smoking environment, and the passer-by can breathe cleaner air. If HKIA think it is expensive, they may put an air purifier near the smoking area, so that the toxic gas will not spread around. Fifth, HKIA can build a game centre. As game centre usually contain variety of games, such as car racing, dancing, shooting, and photo taking and so on. This can attract passengers spend their time there, because almost all range of passengers can use this facility and compete with their friends to gain excitement, so the time sure flies. Finally, we hope these suggestions could help improving HKIA, and let passenger who has been HKIA will loves

All operations have in common three main characteristics: inputs, actions (process) and outputs. When measuring performance, we need to consider these component parts having always in mind the five performance indicators.

Several other methods for solving the problem of second-hand smoke have been suggested in the past. One method is to use air purifiers to clean the air. While this can remove some smoke particles from the air, even the most expensive air filtration system cannot remove all of the poisons and toxins put into the air by second hand smoke. Another solution would be to have separate rooms in which smoking is allowed, such as a lounge or parlor. This idea is also flawed, because for this to work, the rooms in which smoking is allowed would require entirely separate ventilation systems to accomplish the objective of protecting others (from the New York Times, 1/12/99, Public Smoking Ban: Alternatives?)
The potential of air transport demand is increasingly high and many countries have undertaken expansions or introducing new initiative and innovations to their existing airport facilities and systems to accommodate this demand as well as to compete against other airports as a regional hub. However, Changi Airport managed by Changi Aiport Group (CAG), previously part of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), has successfully established Changi Airport as the world’s most awarded airport. In 1988, just seven years after it began operation, Changi Airport overtook Amsterdam’s Schipol Airport and was voted Best Airport and has since won awards continually year on year, with more than 430 awards under its belt and is ranked as the world seventh busiest international airport (Changi Airport Group , 2012) despite the competition, especially among the Asia pacific region (its neighbouring countries). This paper will look into the different initiatives and approaches by CAG in recently years and its future projects in helping Changi remain competitive as one of the world’s top airport through the airport competitive advantages structure.
Flight fee is one of the biggest nightmares of the passenger. In this regard, such an initiative is a win-win situation for the Asiana airlines. The establishment of extensive cabin retrofits is also a great improvement to the customer service delivery. The airline also boosts customer experience in a bid to achieve the airline’s sustainability through the provision of lie-flat seats. The seats boost comfort for the passengers aboard; hence, reduction of exhaustion. According to Asian Development Bank (2009), the airline provides the passengers with a sizeable monitor, especially for the business class passengers. The practical productivity of team relies on upon its hypothetical planning, information of an aeronautical building, and tenets of its operation, including exceptional circumstances, and propensities for utilization of this learning, furthermore on order and determination of pilot-in-charge of aircraft and group individuals. Once the trolley has reached the end of the runway, remove the ticker tape and analyse it to ensure that the trolley had been moving at constant velocity. If the spaces between the dots are equal, the trolley has been moving with a constant acceleration.
The scope of new baggage management arrangement is obvious for the number of apparatus and constituents installed. This project can be considered as highly complex because it resolved the problem of slow transportation within the airport as well as the associated flights. They could rapid ally transport the baggage even under the inclement weather conditions. The numbers below depicts the actual functionality of new baggage system’s statics.
One of the characteristics of service offered by AirAsia is intangibility. Services intangibility is inevitable and sometimes could be a challenge for every service provider. According to Pride & Ferrell (2011) intangibility of services can be defined as the characteristic that the service is not physical and cannot be perceived by the senses. For instance like AirAsia which provides flight services, it is impossible for the customers to touch the flight as it is a journey to specific destinations. They might be able to touch the plane, but in the context of services, the customers do not own the physical tools or equipment used to deliver the service but are only entitled to get the service which is the flight service.
For many decades, smoking is known as the world leading cause of preventable death and disease. Although hundreds and hundreds of studies have been conducted to prove how bad smoking is, people of various ages still do smoke. The controversy about smoking starts rising again, this issue is commonly known as second hand smoke or passive smoking. Smoke that is coming from burning a cigar or tobacco is called a mainstream smoke. Besides that, the smoke exhaled by the smoker is also considered as second hand smoke, commonly known as sidestream smoke. Both types of second hand smoke are dangerous because it is classified as a carcinogen, any substance that causes cancer (Sloan el al, 2004). In the18th century, the government started to intervene in regulating tobacco since many diseases are related to smoking. Nowadays, the government efforts are still present and proved by the regulations that ban smoking in public places. Smoking laws and regulations are crucial to reducing the number of smokers, which will help in reducing numerous diseases and deaths between the smokers and non smokers.

Be sure to grab the right luggage.
.British Airways were the pioneers with the introduction of space beds. To keep the Singapore Airlines to continue be a leader in providing the greatest comfort service to customers, it is our recommendation that Singapore Airline should continue with the installation of the space beds as this will keep them on top of the game with their main competitors. Furthermore, for an airline's long term Business Class customers to be taken seriously, the company should offer the comfort, of either the same value or even higher, to their customers. The drawback of the larger seats (space beds) would decrease the number of seats in the business class area of a jumbo jet from 58 to 50. However, installation of spacebeds ( in long term) will hopefully bring higher income to the Singapore Airlines because of the higher seat utilization.
AirAsia’s high frequency service ensures guest convenience is met. The airline practices a quick turnaround of 25 minutes, which is the fastest in the region, resulting in high aircraft utilization, lower costs and greater airline and staff productivity.
