Introduction
The governing question of this research is: Why are homeless people homeless? In addition to the governing question: What were the events leading up to being homeless? Why haven’t they done anything to change their current status? What are the struggles with being homeless?
What made me interested in this topic is because majority of the homeless are not getting the supplies they need due to scammers. I personally have not experienced being homeless, so I am interested to hear their stories and observe. I truly believe we can learn a lot from homeless people from their experiences. Homeless people tend to be happy for what they have, and never take anything for granted.

Common reasons why men and women are homeless include; excessive alcohol/drug consumption, gambling addictions, inappropriate decisions and/ or loss of everything, mental health (Vázquez, José Juan, (15). Being uprooted by migration or neglect, coming from problematic dysfunctional families and/ or suffering from multiple traumas and societal causes Vázquez, José Juan, (15).
Cases of children being homeless came to a total of 1.6 million children, that are experiencing homelessness every year (Lorelle, Sonya (800). The risk for kids being homelessness include s,mental health issue, behavior problems, academic delays, and trauma Lorelle, Sonya (800).
Female- headed families being homeless and living in poverty shows between 20 and 33 percent of them taking advantage of the services being provided ("The Process of Becoming Homeless: An Investigation of Female-Headed Families Living in Poverty." (320). The main reason female- headed families are experiencing homelessness is the lack of affordable housing. Other reasons is spousal abuse, and child abuse. Shelters or any agency should check up on them through meetings, over the phone, etc to make sure they are striving. This could be motivational for the residents knowing that they have a strong support system behind them. Most residents don't have a support system or any family. Them knowing someone is looking after them could positively influence them to move forward.
All in all, the agencies should aim for more long term care instead of temporary. Agencies should guide them and put them back on track to better out their future. To help residents get back on track they need to be offered affordable housing, long term care, and prevention measures to make sure the residents don’t back track.
Conclusion
In conclusion the issue with homeless people should not be overlooked because it's happening right in your community. Understanding the problem will give agencies a better outlook and alternative routes to eliminate the issue. Agencies are doing their best but the community needs to get involved and volunteer. Homeless people need help getting back on track weather that is getting a job, or using that money to buy a house, etc. Everyone needs help its just how we ask for
