Holy & Beloved: Preaching the gospel, to us it's a must. As someone that has been called from darkness into the Kingdom of light, proclaiming the good news to the entire world is not only a matter of necessity but it is also compulsory, and it requires our immediate action. {1 Peter, 2:-9} 1 Corinthians, 9:-16 "For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of: for necessity is laid upon me: yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel." Sometimes preaching the gospel may take us out of our comfort zones. We are the salt of the world: so says our Lord Jesus Christ. Our savor is to preach the Kingdom of God to those that are still in the bondage of sin, that they also may come to the Cross of Calvary where Jesus has paid the price
You need to not preach your personal theology but preach the theology of the church
he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to
Man knows that the Gospel is God’s power to save, that the truth purifies the heart and the truth sanctifies the heart; for, that information has been revealed through His Word by the Holy Spirit. (Rom. 1:16; I Peter 1:22; John

God’s Kingdom is a place where He places His servants in order to see the world as He does and serve in His Kingdom. His Kingdom, also known as “the House that God built,” is a place that always has pressing needs and it is important for Christians to understand their “calling” in God’s Kingdom. As Frederick Buechner states, “The place God calls you is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet,” Christians need to first recognize the needs of the world and become inspired enough to be actively involved in the coming of God’s Kingdom. Reflecting on God’s Kingdom and the pressing needs within the Kingdom, there are many issues and needs that I have become inspired to begin involving myself with in resolving. Also, I
In conclusion, kingdom of God, election by foreknowledge, and identity in Christ messages will be studied and discussed until Jesus Christ returns. These messages must be handled carefully as Scripture. These three messages of kingdom of God, election by foreknowledge, and identity in Christ are found throughout the whole of the Old Testament, New Testament, and biblical narrative as a whole picture.
Every religion embodies a plethora of recognized rituals that are significant to its teachings. Customs exclusive to each religion can include acts such as: attending a weekly mass, praying five times a day at specified hours, celebrating the transition from childhood to manhood, along with endless others. The similarity shared amongst all religious rituals is that the follower of faith must believe whole-heartedly in what he/she is doing or saying. Dhikr, or the remembrance of God, is a ritual based in Islam that does not receive the attention it deserves from mainstream Muslims, and is highly under appreciated for its value (Robson 238). Its myriad versions allow it to be very personal, whereas other rituals are more structured, which is
Constantine the Great initiated the construction of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in 326 CE (Ousterhout 1990: 44). It was often believed that Constantine built the Church of the Holy Sepulcher to commemorate Jesus because he converted to Christianity after the battle of Milvian Bridge. However, this remained controversial because he received baptism very late in his life. It is arguable that as a Roman emperor, he noticed the expanding community of Christians and their power, and decided to take advantage of their religion to strengthen his empire. Constantine promoted Christianity as a tolerated religion of the Empire, be-leveled the pagan temple on the site of Golgotha and erected a grand church to commemorate Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection.
... of the resurrection of Christ and, therefore ourselves, and also of the future glory that we will experience after the troubling times of the present, the message of “good news” permeates his text. Even in other letters by Paul does “good news” appear, as talked about earlier. The Bible, never in contradiction with itself, has aided us through all trials and joys. It is a wonder to live in a day and age when the glory and salvation of the Lord can be extended to anyone. For this reason, it is our duty to act as Paul did and spread this good news.
So, Jesus Christ advised us to focus on how to secure the crowns in heaven. And He discouraged His followers from spending their strength on worldly gains.
A narrative sermon, according to Miller, “is a story which…binds the entire sermon to a single plot as theme” (103). Miller first presents a defense of narrative preaching as a “strong and advisable sermonic model” (103). Next, Miller examines some of the critiques and cautions of preaching narrative sermons. Finally, Miller seeks to provide a healthy model of narrative preaching as and within the sermon. In his chapter, Miller seeks to encourage the preacher to rightly utilize narrative preaching even though he is not unaware of the difficulties and the shortcomings that come with it. Miller implies that the benefits of using narratives while preaching often outweigh the negatives if done properly. For my own preaching, I am challenged by Miller’s well presented arguments for the use of narrative preaching. Not only is this model conducive to much of the Bible, but it is also advantageous to the story-oriented culture that we live and minster in. Miller also challenges my preaching ministry by reminding me that regardless of how I preaching my sermons “must stay in touch with an evangelistic compassion for the lost world for which God created the church” (111). Not only must my preaching reflect the teachings and passions of Christ, but as Miller suggest, “The best sermons…fit the tone of the passage they expose” (115). The word of God often helps dictate the proper manner in which it is proclaimed. Couple this fact with the statement of H. Grady Davis that “nine-tenths of (the gospel) is narrative” and I am reminded of the necessity to strive to become an all-around preacher
The Kingdom of God has been inaugurated in the first advent of Jesus, who now sit enthroned and reigns in heaven. His Kingdom continues to expand by the ministry of the Holy Spirit through the Church, which has been given His kingdom mandate to transform society to the glory of God. Presently, Satan has been bound so that he is unable to impede the work of Christ throughout the world. As such, the Church, now, stands as the true, spiritual “Israel,” and will inherit the promises made to nation of Israel at the consummation of the Kingdom in the new earth.
We are called to be light and salt of the world. Salt has two functions. It flavors and it stops corruption. We must not lose our saltiness, because if we do we will lose our ability to be a committed
The spiritual understanding of believing what you cannot see is important to me as well as getting the word out there who is unsure if God does exist. Once I became a believer that God does exist and there is another life after earth, it gives me comfort when I pass away. It has taken me a while to arrive here, however, the more I read, the more I grow in faith and it is exciting. It changes me has a person, for example, when I go to sin, I have this guilt feeling and it stops me from doing it.
According to Hutchison (2015), “religion is symbolic patterns that consists of values, beliefs, behaviors and experiences” (p. 184). I personal conceptualize spirituality as a vital role in my life that helps me during a time of sickness, forgiveness, and needed guidance. Spirituality helps guide me throughout life during the difficult times I have encountered. Spirituality impacts my life in positive ways that influence and regulate my behavior and health. Health is very important to me; I believe the spirit can heal a person from their sickness. It seems that the spirit heals me every time I pray to be healed from sickness. The spirit gives me strength at a time of weakness. When I feel at my lowest point in life I call on the spirit to pick
