Throughout history and legend, people have told of a giant creature that lurked at the depth of the ocean. They have told of a massive beast, with arms 60 feet long. This creature supposedly would destroy ships and devour people whole. It was feared for centuries, and named the Kracken. Not too terribly long ago, this creature was proven by science. It was proven to be not a demon, but a species of massive Squid.
The Giant Squid is, as the name describes, a massive squid, of the genus architeuthis, which can grow up to 43 feet long, and weigh more than half a ton. Some have even reported squids that are 60 or more feet long, although squids this size have yet to be confirmed by science. Like other squids, it has ten arms, eight of which are used to swim, and two of which are used to gather food, and are generally considerably longer than the ones used to swim. As well, it has the largest eyes in the animal kingdom. It moves by both using its arms to swim and a funnel to channel and pump water to move swiftly through the ocean water. It uses a sharp beak to devour its prey, which consists of mainly “deep-sea fishes, such as orange ruffie, and hokie” [1].
The Giant Squid has been well-known throughout myth and legend, supposedly gobbling up people, and even sinking ships. The term for “Giant Squid” then was “Kracken”, and these creatures would hunt down unsuspecting ships and destroy them with its massive limbs. However, this has not been recorded to ever happen in the scientific world. In fact, these creatures rarely come to the surface unless they are injured or dying. Although they have been seen fighting with sperm whales, they wouldn’t have the strength or ability to take down a decent sized ship.

What is scaly, creepy, 50 feet long, and swims in the world's most notorious lake? If you said The Loch Ness Monster, then you’re correct! The Loch Ness Monster, mostly known as the creature Nessie, is a huge, “mythical” creature that has been scaring the people of Ireland for centuries, but this monster is actually real.
“Tentacles” by Roland Smith is the second novel in the “Cryptid Hunters” series and was released in 2009. Uncle Wolfe 's latest project is to go to New Zealand to find a giant squid, and the gigantic freighter he has rented for the trip may just be haunted. Someone on the trip is determined to sabotage their trip. Grace and Marty may just be the next victims, if they keep poking their noses into things.
Squidward Tentacles is an employee at the Krusty Krab. He is a 34 year old male. He resides in Bikini Bottom. His hobbies include playing his clarinet and painting multiple pictures which he has false hope will one day be published in some museum. He has hatred for going to work, and is horrible with customer service. He exhibits a strong desire to fit in with a higher caste than himself. There have been many episodes though where when given the chance to prove himself worthy of a higher caste he will retreat to a safer place like his house. His esteem level seems very low. He never leaves his house other than for work either. He hates being social and that’s very obvious in every action Squidward carries out. He rarely dates and when he does there is never a second date. He is a healthy man of his age. He really doesn’t have many friends. There is his two neighbors Spongebob Squarepants and Patrick Star, they want to be friends with him but Squidward can barely tolerate either of them. When he is sad he usually turns to his music, painting, or bubble baths which he takes very often. His life goal or aspiration is to be a famous artist and musician. He’s a very smart individual but has absolutely horrible social skills.
Family therapy is often needed when families go through transitions such as separations between parents and divorce. According to research, “the power of family therapy derives from bringing parents and children together to transform their interactions” (Nichols, & Davis, p.18), as problems need to be addressed at their source. The children who are the most vulnerable, when parents decide to separate, exhibit symptoms which are exaggerations of their parent’s problems (Nichols, & Davis, p.18). Frank and Walt Berkman are the examples of how children cope and adapt to the stressors of family separations such as marital separations and
The outer tentacles probe for a potential meal, then the inner sensors decide if the prey is edible. They are covered in thick, blackish-brown, water-repellent fur, and have large scaled feet and a long, thick tail. This animal is by far one of the most interesting animals in the world, despite looking like a cross between a rat and an octopus. The way it behaves and utilizes its star nose is fascinating and makes it very unique when compared to other animals.
This image is what a majority of people believe to be the shark. They believe it to be the bloodthirsty sea monster that appears in countless works of literature and films, but science says otherwise. The classic picture painted by the minds of sailors returning from years at sea come from imagination and sharks’ violent methods of hunting and mating. Sharks fear humans as much as humans fear sharks, and most sharks, particularly the “man-eating” great whites, only bite humans because they mistake surfers for seals. In earlier times, the ocean was a source of mystery and adventur...
The Mysterious Giant Squid About 80 percent of the Earth is covered in water. With the majority of life on this planet residing in the liquid we like to call the essence of life, we as humans represent a minority on this planet. Much of the underwater world remains a mystery to us, with the giant squid being one of the greatest mysteries of them all. How close are we to actually solving the mystery of this deep water giant? For the first known citation of one of these creatures, you would have to go back to November of 1861, when crew members of the French dispatch steamer Alecton spotted what appeared to be a large sea monster off the coast of the Canary Islands.
Throughout history, we have seen many animals that have lived on Earth and are no longer alive. However, there is a specific species such as the Megalodon, that though once thought to be extinct, has been speculated to still being alive today. Megalodon are gigantic sharks the size of a greyhound bus with teeth the size of the palm of your hand or maybe even bigger. The Megalodon went “extinct” due to the lack of prey because of major changes in the environment around them. The reason why there has been speculation is because in these recent years past there have been many sightings of sharks with the description of being huge in size.

The director continuously uses extreme close ups of the tiny, transparent organism in contrast to the victims being rescued to illustrate the image that coming in contact with this small animal can have such severe repercussions. They have also used footage of one of the Irukandji’s in captivity to more clearly show how skinny, long and transparent the tentacles are and that coming into contact with one of the tiny dots on one of its nearly invisible tentacles can lead to serious repercussions. The director also uses microscopic footage of a tentacle. This footage shows epic surges of matter exploding off of these small areas of the tentacle. This continues to embellish on the idea that the Irukandji jellyfish is a monster and a major threat to people in Southern
They are creatures that have no clue what we are and are afraid of us. Every year, thousands of more people are killed by other people than by sharks; thousand more people are killed in car accidents than by sharks, and more people are killed by lightning strikes than by sharks. Each year humans kill tens of thousands of sharks, yet, there are fewer than 100 shark attacks upon humans. For example, The Great White shark also known as the man-eater, has the greatest reputation for attacking humans. Recent studies of Great Whites show that they mainly feed on sea-mammals. Seen from below the surface a person swimming with a shark looks much like a seal, with arms and legs sticking out. The shark usually surprises its victim, being a person or seal, by one massive bite, and then retreats in order to allow the victim to die before digesting the food. For this reason, many humans survived the attack of a Great White shark if they are saved before being eaten. Not only getting out of the water and be safe, but the result of loss, blood or
The Megalodon (or Carcharodon Megalodon) is a pre-historic creature who stalked the open global oceans of the Paleozoic Era. This beast was a much larger version of today's Great White. The monstrous demon if the deep went extinct around 2.6 million years ago that time is included in the Cenozoic Era. The Epoch it died in was the mid-Miocene to Pliocene. The Megalodon first appeared 510-425 years ago during the Paleozoic Era or the "Age of Fish". The diet consisted of large whales of the time period, for example, the Livyatan an 18 meter (59 feet.) Killer Whale. The Megalodon being 20 meters (Approximately 65 feet.) it has no trouble dispatching and eating its prey. Considering its size and ferocity this beast was the apex predator of its time
is, without a doubt, the largest inhabitant of the globe; the most formidable of all whales to encounter;
Some people think megalodon is alive and in the mariana trench. Why because their reasoning is that if the megalodon had to get food it could eat things such as giant squid, some whales and some undiscovered animal of the deep parts of the mariana trench.Why that they say it can be undetected, because such animals such as the megamouth have not been discovered until recently and they are pretty huge, so they that is why they say it can be not be
