Voters across America are facing an important decision this November. They must choose between Hillary Clinton, the current Secretary of State, and Donald Trump, a successful businessman, in the upcoming election. Though both candidates enter the debate with the intention of keeping their current supporters and persuading swing voters to vote for them to win the presidential election, Donald Trump’s and Hillary Clinton’s strategies to accomplish this goal are quite different and they each have their own distinct style. Clinton was calm and prepared during the debate, while Trump was emotional and unprepared. The American audience recognizes this and supports her because they know that being able to have a civil debate without interruptions is a very important skill to have as a president. Americans also support her because Clinton is able to use her verbal language and body language to connect to several different parts of the audience. Trump’s appalling interruptions and unsuccessful attempts to take advantage of the fears of Americans during the debate cost him the presidency. Because of this debate, many Americans promise to take action and vote for Clinton, if only so that Trump will not win. The two candidates are making Americans think more about the issues with gender and race there are in America and they are helping people realize that America was not great, is not great, and can always be improved. This debate had a clear winner, causing Trump supporters to get nervous, worrying that Clinton will win.
