This very morning marked the beginning of the high school hockey season for the 2016-2017 year. At the tryout this morning we used a radar gun, and my slapshot got tracked at 78 miles per hour. Using the conversion factor of 1 mile per hour is equal to 0.44704 meters per second, when I multiplied 0.44704 meters per second by 78 miles per hour, the velocity of my shot in meters per second came out to 34.8691 meters per second.
