This song is really touching my heart, obviously to say, it is a warm song; some people said that the Beatles were overrated. I don't think that's true. I think they're exactly as popular as they deserve to be. Also their song are still appealing and charming until now, people can’t deny that the Beatles had a huge influence on Pop and Rock music than any other band. If anything I think they're underpaid because of people saying they're overrated. All the song was describing a really nice picture and showing it in front of us.
"Here Comes the Sun" is of equal quality and almost as well known, and like something has been frequently covered by other artists. It displayed a much brighter and livelier attitude than much of other previous work.
Carl Strommen was born in 1940 and currently lives with his family in Long Island, New York. He graduated from Long Island University receiving a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and later went to The City College of New York where he studied music and received a Master of Arts in Music. He studied orchestration with Manny Albam and Rayburn Wright and composition with Stefan Wolpe. He currently has over twenty published arrangements for bands and wind ensembles. His popular arrangements and compositions are played all over the world.
There was a vocal recital on October 19th, 2017 at 7:30PM, held at the performance hall in Mountain view college. Alex Longnecker, a tenor vocalist and Imre Patkai, (pianist) played a series of homophonic textured songs, some being sung in German and others in English. The Three selected songs I will be writing about are, The Lincolnshire Poacher, The Plough Boy, and Im Wunderschonen Monat Mai. This performance played a total of 24 Pieces, composed by 4 composers, being Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ernest Chausson, Benjamin Britten, and Robert Schumann.
American Beauty/American Psycho was an album that was sung by the band Fall Out Boy in 2015. Fall Out Boy is an alternative/indie rock band with a little hint of pop in some of their songs. This album, which is the band’s most recent album, is full of a lot of good songs and songs that maybe some people wouldn’t like. Fall Out Boy is a face-paced band, which means their songs are faced-paced. A lot of their songs could be a little hard to understand for people who don’t listen to this kind of music. The album does not have many of these types of songs, which is why it is a favorite among Fall Out Boy fans.

I went to the Apopka High School fall band concert on Thursday, November 19th, 2015 for my cultural event. Different artists featured throughout this concert include Francis Scott Key with the Star Spangled Banner, Peter Blair with the Woodchopper’s Ball, and Carmen Dragon with America the Beautiful. This concert was centered on giving thanks to the veterans that serve or have served our country, and I thought it would be a unique experience to attend. I was moved by all the veterans that stood up in the audience to be recognized. One of the artists I would like to take a closer look at is Francis Scott Key with the Star Spangled Banner. I think that is why the Beatles were so successful, because they were different and unusual at the time. And people (myself included) enjoy different things. This is the case with movies, books, personalities, and music. But, it is beautiful at the same time.“Here come old flattop, he come grooving up slowly. He got joo-joo eyeball, he one holy roller. He got hair down to his knee.” Quotes like these almost baffle you in a way, and make you think. The words in the songs astonish me while touching my heart at the same time. At the time Abbey Road was written, the world was a little bit of a mess. Vietnam War, drugs, and race were all an issue. This music really reflects that time. Laid back and “high on life” type of sound.

The song is a perfect example of John Lennon’s rock influence in the Beatles. “Come Together” is a song that’s popularity has been revived due to its appearances in many commercials. Its trademark chorus, “Come together right now over me”, is known just about everywhere. Ringo’s heavy drums and John’s deep poetic lyrics drive the song, while Paul’s voice and George’s sharp guitar contribute to the body of this song. John Lennon was well known for his creative lyrics. His mind provided lyrics for such insightful songs such as “Across the Universe” and “A Day in the Life”.

“Over There” is a song written by George M. Cohan in 1917. Nora Bayes, Enrico Caruso, Billy Murray, Arthur Fields, and Charles King were among many who recorded the song. It was written as a propaganda piece encouraging young American men to join the army to fight in World War I. The song was incredibly popular, selling over two million copies of sheet music and one million copies of recordings by the end of the war. Cohan, the writer, was eventually even awarded a Congressional Medal of Honor for his work on this song.
Bob Dylan is one of the most influential artists, especially in the Vietnam era where everything seemed to be falling apart. He wrote so many different rebel ballads that I most definitely think impacted the turnout of the 60s and 70s. Many of his songs are still popular today and so many different generations know of him and his work. Bob Dylan influenced many artists and is still is inspiring people and will continue to for many years to come.

The song that I choose to do this assignment on is Fight the Power by Public Enemy. Fight the Power was written in 1989 and quickly became a street anthem for millions of youths. It reflects with issues dealing with both the Civil Rights Movement and to remind everyone that they too have Constitutional Rights. This particular song is about empowerment but also fighting the abuse of power that is given to the law enforcement agencies. It gave citizens of the U.S a more modern outlook on the many struggles that not only the African American community is up against but the other minority groups as well. Every song has a story to tell, and some contain hidden stories or lessons, while others are completely blatant. In Billy Joel’s song, “We Didn’t Start the Fire,” he does not hesitate to be very obvious with what he tries to prove, which is how all of the events in his song contribute to one large fire. I chose to remediate Joel’s song because it spoke to me with historical context. When researching the song, I read a majority of the history behind it and decided to reflect upon it in a visual picture collage, combining a majority of the elements he mentions with pictures--all circled around a fire in the middle. I decided to also make red-dyed cupcakes reflecting the fire Joel speaks of and ice them with a flame, yet placing an X over it, since he claims “we didn’t start the fire.” Both of my remediation’s have elaborate histories, first starting with the collage.
The song I have chosen for this essay is Lucy in the Sky with Diamond by The Beatles. I like this song because it has a very happy rhythm and the sound of Paul McCartney’s, the singer, voice. I chose this song because I have grown up listening to the Beatles and specifically this song, the music is very upbeat and catchy and it has a lot of figurative language terms and rhyming. I admire the Beatles because of their very catchy music and messages their music tell. The Beatles consist of four important members, John Lennon as guitarist, Ringo Starr as their drummer, Paul McCartney as vocals, and George Harrison as lead guitar. The Beatles have other great songs such as: Come Together, Hey Jude, Help!, I Wanna Hold Your Hand, and She Loves You.
Correspondingly, this song described a strong political message that is covered up with a miraculous melody. Lennon was determined to share his message. His message told the world that it takes everyone to complete a common goal known as peace. With this in mind, “Imagine” means a lot to me because everyone can think about a perfect world in their mind, but it takes everyone's voice to make it exist. Thus, I learned that there is no need to grieve over the tiny things in life and part of life is just letting go. This song inspired me to look at the bigger issues in the world.
