What I am about to share with you is simply a” faith “story. Please allow me to explain to you what I mean when I use the word “faith”. The word faith is defined as “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen“, In the book of Hebrews 11:1. The Hebrew writer is simply saying, “faith “for a Christian is belief in what God, the creator says; man has never seen heaven; he has never seen an angel; he has never seen the redeemer; he has never seen a body raised from the grave; but he has the evidence which is satisfactory to the mind that God has spoken on these subjects and his very nature prompts him to confide in the declarations of his “Creator “. The Hebrew writer goes on to say;’ by faith we understand that the worlds …show more content…
were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible (Heb.1:3) Existence means the fact or state of living or having objective reality.
God means (in Christianity and other monotheistic religions) the creator and ruler of the universe and source of all moral authority. The bible writer; John, “In the beginning God created heaven and earth (Genesis 1:1) “; In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made through Him, and without Him, nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of the men “(John 1:1-3). God, who created the universe in all of its magnitude and creative details, is able to be known by us. He tells us about himself, but even goes beyond that. He welcomes us into a relationship, so that we personally get to know “Him”. Not only can we know about” Him”, we can know “Him” intimately; “Let not the wise man boast of wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boost of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for these things I delight, declares the Lord (Jeremiah 9:23-24)”. These scriptures show why I believe God exist. So, every supporting argument made in this presentation is based on the word of God, which is written in the Holy Bible. The gospel writer John;” In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John …show more content…
1:1). In an article I read, it is said “that when negative things happen, how can God can exist? “, Theodicy, in other words—the attempt to reconcile God's perfect goodness with the manifest evils of His world—has arisen from the waves. On the retro, fundamentalist, side, various men of the cloth announced that the tsunami was the rational act of a deity enraged by the suppression of Christianity in South Asia, pornography and child-trafficking in that same locale, or, in the view of some Muslim commentators, the bikini-clad tourists at Phuket( Ehrenreich 1).” The scriptures teach that “You will have suffering in this world (John 16:33).”These words were spoken by Jesus himself; He didn’t say you might, He said it is going to happen In the viewpoint article it is said that “The Christian-style "God of love" should be particularly vulnerable to post-tsunami doubts. What kind of "love" inspired Him to wrest babies from their parents' arms, the better to drown them in a hurry? If He so loves us that He gave his only son etc. Why couldn't he have held those tectonic plates in place at least until the kids were off the beach? So much, too, for the current pop-Christian God, who can be found, at least on the Internet, micro-managing people's careers, resolving marital spats, and taking excess pounds off the faithful( Ehrenreich 4).” Just because God allows bad thing to happen doesn’t mean that he does not love you. God does things for reasons sometimes to get our attention. Even sometimes he may be trying to get a message across. Sometimes our relationships with God may not be right. It does not mean he doesn’t exist. God even allows the devil to do work towards us but he still exist and is still there. On Friday April first my sister in law, niece and nephews were driving down I-20. They were in a bad accident and it is no way that I can’t say God exist. They were held up by thin narrow trees in a big Escalade SUV truck. God stepped in and protected all of my family and they walked away without any bruises. God may be omnipresent but God is here he is in existence. Sometimes people make choices to put themselves in bad situations and want to blame it on God. God gave us free will to make our own decisions. Even though he allowed that to happen it still does not give me or you the right to say he is not real because he allowed that happen. However, the bible teaches; “Great is our Lord and mighty in power: his understanding has no limit (Psalms 147:5); “where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth (Psalms 121:1-2)”. “The clerics who are struggling to make sense of the tsunami must not have noticed that this is hardly the first display of God's penchant for wanton, homicidal mischief. Leaving out man-made genocide, war, and even those "natural" disasters, like drought and famine, to which "man" invariably contributes through his inept social arrangements, God has a lot to account for in the way of earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, and plagues. Nor has He ever shown much discrimination in his choice of victims. A tsunami hit Lisbon in 1755, on All Saints Day, when the good Christians were all in church. The faithful perished, while the denizens of the red light district, which was built on strong stone, simply carried on sinning. Similarly, last fall's [2004] hurricanes flattened the God-fearing, Republican parts of Florida while sparing sin-soaked Key West and South Beach (Ehrenreich 3).” So because God allows pain and disaster to happen people may think God does not exist. “In the beginning was the word and the word was with God, and the word was God.” “The same was in the beginning with God.” “All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made.”(John 1:1-3). In this scripture it proves that God is the creator of all things. He created pain and disaster. Just because it is negative does not mean God does not care. In verse three it shows that God is all powerful if we don’t have God we don’t have anything. This scripture is so important because it just tell you that God is God he is everything. I understand that people come from different backgrounds and different religions. So of course people were taught to believe that God does or does not exist. “It's not just Christianity. Any religion centered on a God who is both all-powerful and all-good, including Islam and the more monotheistically inclined versions of Hinduism, should be subject to a thorough post-tsunami evaluation. As many have noted before me: If God cares about our puny species, then disasters prove that he is not all-powerful; and if he is all-powerful, then clearly he doesn't give a damn.In fact, the best way for the religious to fend off the atheist threat might be to revive the old bad—or at least amoral and indifferent—gods. The tortured notion of a God who is both good and powerful is fairly recent, dating to roughly 1200 BC, after which Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, and Islam emerged. Before that, you had the feckless Greco-Roman pantheon, whose members interfered in human events only when their considerable egos were at stake. Or you had monstrous, human-sacrifice-consuming, psychogods like Ba al and his Central American counterparts. Even earlier, as I pointed out in my book Blood Rites, there were prehistoric god(desses) modeled on man-eating animals like lions, and requiring a steady diet of human or animal sacrificial flesh (Ehrenreich 6&7).” Once again free will comes in the picture, free will is the power of acting without the constraint of necessity or fate; the ability to act at one's own discretion. Even though there are many religions people have the choice of choosing the way to go. Just take look at “Adam and Eve, God’s first creation; “then, the Lord God, took man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and keep it; and the Lord God commanded the man, saying “of every tree of the garden, you may eat freely: but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for the day that you eat, you shall surely die (Genesis 2:15-17) “. As the story continue, we know that both Adam and Eve made a choice to eat from the tree of “knowledge of good and evil”: “So, when the woman saw that a tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of the fruit and ate, she also gave to her husband with her and he ate (Genesis 3:6) “. In conclusion, I have explained and proved my point that God exist.
Given a choice to believe God exist all goes back to faith. As for me I am a Christian and through Gods word I have faith and believe that God Exist. There is a song we sing in worship called “God is real”: “Yes God is real he is real in my soul. ““I know God is real for I can feel him in my soul.” Not only in my soul but through the Holy Spirit”: If you do not have faith it can affect your thought of believing that God exist. God has given me personal experiences and through his word as to why I can I believe God exist. This is what I know for myself and it does not matter what anyone says. While writing this paper a friend of mine reached out to me. This friend stated that he wanted to attend church with me. He stated that he has never been big on believing God or being religious. He reached out to me saying I know you go to church and you are a good person and that’s why I came to you. Even though I cannot see God I know he exist he has all power over everything and he is the creator. God is real and he is working in your life .I pray that through this paper you can also believe in the existence of
God.

In conclusion I am left pretty much in the same place as I have started. It is impossible to prove or disprove the existence of God philosophically. For every philosopher who publishes his or her opinions on the subject, three more are there to tear it down. In the end I think it is best that man does not figure out the answer to this lifelong question. Some things are better left unanswered.
So, what do I believe about God, the Bible, and Jesus Christ? I believe that God is the creator of all things great and small, he has a love for his creation like no other, and He is the only, one, true God. Colossians 1:16 ESV says “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.” Also found in the book of Genesis is the step by step details of the creation of the earth and its inhabitance. Genesis 1:1 ESV “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” There are many scriptures in the Bible that speak of God’s love for us. Psalm 86:5 ESV is one of them “For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
...nough to support the idea of God’s existence, I consider the debate to have no winner, because, the arguments of Dr. Dacey are also strong enough to prove his position. However, in these debates the double answer is not possible, because in reality the existence of God can be true of untrue, without anything in between. In my opinion, God exists, and I strongly believe in His existence. I consider the question “Does God Exist?” to be the issue of faith, and there cannot be true or false arguments, because all the people are willing to decide, whether they believe in existence of God, or not. It is the inner choice of everybody, and sooner or later we will all find out the truth.
In light of Craig Stern’s excerpts, from the book, A Higher Law by Jeffrey A. Brauch, he writes concerning four Christian ideas-doctrines “Four Christian ideas-doctrine in fact-are both especially important to that religion and especially important to the rule of law in the common law tradition.” Stern’s begin to explain what formulates the doctrinal belief of the Christian faith. “The first of these is the doctrine of God himself, that is, his being and his work.” By this, Stern’s means that God is the creator of all things he is the beginning and the end. “The Christian faith holds that God is the “I AM,” the uncreated creator of all that is, who is from everlasting to everlasting.” He is also the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, a God of relationship, of covenant. In this way, he is both transcendent and immanent.”
Whether god exists or not has been in discussion for thousands of years, and an important discussion. Whether it is rational to believe in god or not is another story, like believing in god itself, this topic has brought many discussions. It is one thing to discuss whether god is real or not and it is a complete other to discuss whether it is rational to believe in god or not. I believe that while there may not be any convincing evidence or arguments that God does exist, I do still believe that it is still rational to believe that god does exist. I think this because, believing in God is not simply just believing that he exists, but believing that it can bring good to our lives, we otherwise would not have. It teaches us to have a moral responsibility not only to others, but ourselves. It is obvious that many people do believe in god, but many of us choose to do so for reasons other than just believing in God. I do believe that just because there is no evidence, that does not mean God doesn’t exist. Like I said, God brings more to our lives than just a belief, but an ability to achieve a better one. And even if God is just an imaginary figure, he is an imaginary figure that brings hope and goodness to our lives, which we can never discount.

This argument is far from proving the existence of God, it argues more for. the purpose of believing in him rather than whether he actually exists. The.. The First Murder. Two sons of Adam and Eve are mentioned by name in chapter four, though they had other children. Cain was a farmer and Abel was a sheepherder and when the time came they brought offerings as a sacrifice towards God. Here is the first of many instances of the younger son being more obedient and blessed by God in contrast to the eldest child. Cain brought general produce for the sacrifice, but Abel brought the best of his flock. God then was pleased with Abel’s sacrifice, for Abel obediently brought the best of what he had with a sacrificial and joyous mindset. God was not pleased with Cain’s offering, for it seems that Cain did not obey God in what to sacrifice (4:7). Instead of repenting, Cain responds with anger. The Lord
In the Christian worldview God is the one and only God. He is the sovereign creator of everything. A wonderful description of the nature of God’s existence that includes the absolute possession of characteristics that have
How man was created has puzzled many, and been an argument in everyone’s life. I personally have reasons why I believe the way I do, but everyone has their own opinion depending on how or where they were raised, and what values they hold dear. Richard Dawkins has given a detailed analysis of why he believes the existence of God is highly doubtful, in his short story titled “The improbability of God.” After reading through his paper I will explain why I don’t believe in his allegations, and why I believe God is real, and my answers to his justifications.
The Gospel of Luke is the longest book of the four Gospel in the New Testament. Prayer is the focus of Luke 11 as it is started with the Lord's prayer and followed by His assurance in Luke 11:9, “Ask and it will be given to you.”
All honor and glory to God forever and ever! He is the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; he alone is God. Amen. (1 Timothy 1:17). Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation (Colossians 1:15). Whether God exists is a question that has been discussed and questioned for thousands of years. I firmly believe that I serve a living God and have never questioned the proof of His existence until I received this assignment. I will discuss the primary arguments that prove the existence of God. In addition, I am going to consider St. Augustine’s proof for God’s existence that is stated in Book II of On the Free Choice of the Will, On Grace and Free Choice, and Other Writings as well as my opinion on the convincibility of his argument and the
God can be defined as a being conceived as the perfect, omnipotent, omniscient originator and ruler of the universe, the principal object of faith and worship in monotheistic religions (1). There are many people that do not believe in any religion. People who do not believe in a religion have no reason for believing in a God. People who do not believe in a God and argue against the existence of God are proving something that is completely false. There is a God for numerous reasons.
The concept of God can be a difficult one to grasp especially in today's world - a world in which anyone that believes in God is trying to define exactly what God is. To even attempt to grasp such a concept, one must first recognize his own beliefs in respect to the following questions: Is God our creator? Is God omnipotent (all-powerful) or omniscient (all-knowing) or both? Does God care? Is God with us? Does God interfere with life on earth? These questions should be asked and carefully answered if one should truly wish to identify his specific beliefs in God's existence and persistence.
In a group of people whenever a religious topic is raised it always leads to an argument, a heated discussion or a debate. One of the biggest debates that is going on in this world is weather God really exists or not. Arguments for and against the existence of God have been proposed by philosophers, theologians, scientists, and others for thousands of years. As a result I decided to go and ask my parents, family members and friends the question that has been discussed amongst people of different religion, groups and families. But before I asked my question to the groups of people I had I thought about the answer I gave to my professor when this question was asked in class. I told her that I believe that God exists, and when I was asked for my proof I said because of all the miracles that I have seen in churches throughout my life and all the miracles that I have heard and saw on TV. I was not happy with my answer and I was ashamed that I couldn’t give a better answer. After that I thought to myself if I ask people around me that very same question will I get similar answer or w...
