Irina and parents of participants at EquusTerra saw the growing need in the community to enhance mental health outcomes and provide adolescent and adults with special needs with quality support, employment opportunities and nourishing learning environment and decided to take the matter in their hands. Having written a proposal for the project, they turned to Matthew Bourke, a councillor for Jamboree Ward and Chair of Council’s Lifestyle and Community Services Committee, and MP Jessica Pugh, a member for Mount Ommaney for help. Both Matthew and Jessica now enthusiastically support the project and are currently assisting EquusTerra in finding a location for the future precinct. Three sites are now under consideration, two are in Oxley and one in
D1: I have decided to look at a 6 year old going through bereavement. Bereavement means to lose an individual very close to you. When children go through bereavement they are most likely to feel sad and upset about the person’s death. Children at a young age may not understand when a family member dies. Children may not understand bereavement. For example a 6 year old’s father been in a car crash and has died from that incident. Death is unpredictable and children can’t be prepared for a death of a family member as no one knows when someone is going to die or not. Unfortunately every child can experience bereavement even when a pet dies. It is important that we are aware that effects on the child so we can support them in the aftermath.
There is an ongoing debate on the topic of how to fix the health care system in America. Some believe that there should be a Single Payer system that ensures all health care costs are covered by the government, and the people that want a Public Option system believe that there should be no government interference with paying for individual’s health care costs. In 1993, President Bill Clinton introduced the Health Security Act. Its goal was to provide universal health care for America. There was a lot of controversy throughout the nation whether this Act was going in the right direction, and in 1994, the Act died. Since then there have been multiple other attempts to fix the health care situation, but those attempts have not succeeded. The Affordable Care Act was passed in the senate on December 24, 2009, and passed in the house on March 21, 2010. President Obama signed it into law on March 23 (Obamacare Facts). This indeed was a step forward to end the debate about health care, and began to establish the middle ground for people in America. In order for America to stay on track to rebuild the health care system, we need to keep going in the same direction and expand our horizons by keeping and adding on to the Affordable Care Act so every citizen is content.
2.3 Explain how the health and social care practitioner own values, beliefs and experiences can influence delivery of care.
Linley Point is a lovely little peninsular suburb on the north-west side of Sydney. The Crescent is home to several dwellings and the suburb’s largest park. In recent years, Linley Point has been undergoing redevelopment and renovation, which has changed its resident population. Now, the suburb is home to more families than any other category of residents. Because of the rise in families, a children’s playground with modern play equipment was built at Linley Point Park on The Crescent amongst local family houses. Linley Point is considered one of the smallest of Sydney suburbs and a desirable community in which to raise a family.
Access to health care refers to the ease with which an individual can obtain needed medical services. Many Americans face barriers that make it difficult to obtain basic health care services. These barriers to services include lack of availability, high cost, and lack of insurance coverage. "Limited access to health care impacts people's ability to reach their full potential, negatively affecting their quality of life." (Access to Health Services, 2014) Access to health services encompasses four components that include coverage, services, timeliness, and workforce
EBP and Research Forum Surgical site infection (SSI) after pediatric surgery occurs at a considerable rate and increases morbidity and mortality in children (Rinke, Jan, Nassim, & Choi, 2016). In a study done by Cannon, Hersey, Harrison, Joy, Naguib, Galantowicz, and Simsic (2016), advanced practice nurses (APNs) played a key role in enhancing surveillance and prevention of SSIs in children who had surgery. This paper aims to: (a) differentiate research, Evidence Based Practice (EBP), and quality improvement (QI); (b) integrate the use of each into my practice setting; and furthermore (c) explain how they relate to my phenomenon of interest (POI) which is SSI in pediatric surgery. APN Role As a future pediatric nurse practitioner (NP), I will be providing a more comprehensive care to my pediatric patients in the perioperative setting.
As an advisor to the UN advocacy campaign promoting LGBT rights all over the world, I would like to recommend the issue regarding health concerns and access to healthcare for the LGBT community. Research has suggested that individuals of the LGBT community face health disparities linked to societal stigma, discrimination, and denial of their civil and human rights. Such discrimination against LGBT individuals has in some cases lead to psychiatric disorders, substance abuse, and suicide. These individuals have been subject to instances of violence and victimization, which may have a lasting effect on both the individual and the community. Thus, as a result of this history of discrimination and lack of awareness of health needs by health professionals, the LGBT people face a common set of challenges in accessing culturally competent health services and the highest possible level of
for close persons must not lead to a decrease in standard of living and impose poverty among them. The care provided by both informal and professional careers must be appreciated and recognized by the culture. Financial burden is a necessary prerequisite for ensuring the quality of care. The provision of quality services are directly proportional to the presence of skillful and trained workers, counselors and respite social services, including support from the society. The demand for adequate helpers and isolation from the social events enforces careers’ health as well as dignity and quality of care at risk and there will also be posed for the risk of abuse and neglect.

...ue to numerous medical errors. With the amount of medical errors that currently do occur which is a current health care issue it cost the health care billions of dollar each year to fix the mistakes that were made.
Health Care should considered a right not something that has to be earned. Many people who work forty hour weeks to provide for their families are still unable to afford their medical bills. Health care should be something that can be easily obtained by anyone. Today, the people who have health care insurance are either struggling to make a living because it’s so expensive or they’re billionaires. While many people don’t have healthcare insurance at all, so they’re forced to pay every penny upfront

Health care has always been an interesting topic all over the world. Voltaire once said, “The art of medicine consists of amusing the patient while nature cures the disease.” It may seem like health care that nothing gets accomplished in different health care systems, but ultimately many trying to cures diseases and improve health care systems.
There are numerous careers related to special needs, all of which require different schooling, training, mentorships, and other types of preparation. Any type of job working with children with mental and physical disabilities can be challenging but also very rewarding when one sees the child improve (Tyrer, 2007). Different types of careers affect special needs children in different ways. For example a teacher will help them thrive in school, while other careers may help the kids improve at home or in a public setting. Special needs workers should be creative, flexible, and personable to be able to meet the needs of the child and also provide useful information for the child’s parents. It is important for one to at least complete minimal required training so one will be fully prepared to work with a child with any type of delay. Often children in schools do not improve at a higher rate because their teacher may not have the necessary training to assist them (Marković, 2014). No matter what special needs career someone chooses, everyone should have one common goal: to help special needs children thrive. Marković from the article “Work with Kids with Special Needs” puts it perfectly when she states, “the main aim is that children with disabilities get the chance to grow, learn, and socialize with children with normal development, and that these children can adapt and learn together with children with special needs. In this way, they develop understanding, tolerance, and humanity” (Marković,
