Time is all we have on this planet, and we, as human beings spend too much time on television, however, there is a certain series that viewers would take interest in. “Timeless”, is a TV series brought by NBC as a new, heart-racing, edge of your seat drama, which takes place in modern day New York. Three characters, Wyatt, Lucy, and Rufus travel through time and try to stop an iniquitous man who stole a time machine, from changing history which would alter modern day. Yes, “Timeless” is in present day but the aspects of technology and time travel are far from this time which also gives genres of fantasy and science fiction. The first episode about the Hindenburg Disaster, which, not only had me wanting more but left me with additional knowledge about the past than I had known before. This TV series captures the attention of viewers craving nearly any …show more content…
Me, and many others were confused at several points but I was wondering as to why the producers or writers didn’t care to go in depth about the characters. For the first six minutes, watchers were introduced to Lucy, a history and anthropology professor with great endorsements who follows in her cancerous mother's footsteps. Next viewers meet Wyatt, a Delta Force Agent with outstanding credentials. One character we e weren’t fully introduced to is Rufus. happened to be the only pilot who could operate the Time-Machine, he also happened to be working on an evil workforce called Rittenhouse. It was a cliché moment in the Pilot that had me cringing. While I did enjoy the show, I can’t say as much as the plot, it wasn’t clear where the trio would venter next or do next in their Journey to be one step ahead of Garcia Flynn, the villain in this Series. Lucy is confronted by him once every episode at least which has me questioning it's importance to the
The plot was awful and the characters are cardboard cutouts and stereotypes. Some did not like how weak Roz was, finding that her life was made for her by men and that all she does is wait for Trae to come back to her.
It has taught me to never give up hope, even when times are hard. My favorite character is Vivian. I liked her a lot because in her life, she has been through some dark times. As a young girl, she was always loving. When she grew older, that same love never died, but flourished. After getting to know Molly, she gave her that same love that she always had. Even though Vivian is an older woman, she heart never grew

Steven Johnson wrote an article for the New York Times in which he argues that back in the days, television shows use to have a very simple plot which was easy to follow without too much attention. It was just an other way to sit back and relax. However, throughout the years, viewers grew tired of this situation and demanded more complex plot lines with multiple story lines that related to recent news topics. He takes the example of the television show “24”. “24” is known for being the first show which its plot occurs in “real-time”, it is also known for not censuring the violence of its topics. It is a drastic change from what Johnson states as an example “Starsky and Hutch” where basically each episodes was only a repetition of the last one. Johnson also believes that there is a misconception of the mass culture nowadays where people think the television viewer wants dumb shows which in response makes them dumber. Johnson does not agree, for him, television shows such as “24” are “nutritional”. He also states that sm...
Television viewers have more viewing choices than ever before in deciding how to spend their time with television. In recent years, reality television has become a popular genre for viewing audiences. According to Nabi (304), reality television programs, "film real people as they live out events (contrived or otherwise) in their lives.” One popular subgenre of reality television is romance-based competition shows. These shows typically follow a contestant on their search for love and as they choose between a group of attractive suitors. Over the course of an entire season, the lead contestant eliminates the group of suitors until only one-suitor remains and the couple becomes engaged.
Television is very popular in our society. But, what makes television so beloved? Is it the actors and actresses, the suspense, the quality, the humor, or the romance? While many of these aspects connect to why television is popular, the main reason is that watching television helps avoid problems, and gives a momentary happiness. These aspects are present in the dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451, where in their society books are banned and television is overpowering.
It addressed many real life issues that many other series don’t really mention at all, it almost seemed like it was an “uncensored” a version of friends or stein field. The two main episodes that I focused on were the “Ladies and Gentlemen” and “Parents” episode. Within the Ladies and Gentlemen episode the main focus of the episode was to discuss the issue of inequality and the problems that everyone seemed to be going through at the time. There were some scenes that gave obvious depiction of binaries and conversation that were pretty much just examples of appropriation during this episode, which is why I ended up picking this as one of my episode to talk about since It was pretty much a freebie. Now for the other one, it was by far my favorite episode. It pretty much tells the story of both the characters in this episode and shows how much they had to do just get started and to get to where they were in the current time of the show. Just like how gender, races and sexual orientation are starting to be less defined, it seemed to me that this also occurs in a more complex way. Such as how they grew up to be much different than their parent and the life they live right now is apparently new and wasn’t really there before. Also how the parents act by the end of the episode compare to the begging is quite

The main characters were Charlie and Riley. I did enjoy the characters. I found them intriguing and loved that I could relate with Charlie. They were characters that in the eyes of the public would be considered bad, but in my eyes, they were trying to be good.
Brody is your typical hotshot cocky stud, who thinks the world revolves around him and everyone should love him. C.J. is the hot blonde that every guy is lusting for and Rodney is the nerdy character who always goes through some sort of comedic pain for a few laughs, as well as has a crush on the hot blonde C.J. The story does not give enough character development when needed and seems to neglect a few interesting ones like, Stephanie Holden who is seen in most of the movie but never gets any screentime alone or any backstory information like the rest. A scene in particular which could have actually help build her character is when she shares a kiss with Mitch in a restaurant kitchen in order to fool the thugs that are protecting the drugs. After they stop kissing she is stunned by what happened and it's hinted that she is romantically interested in Mitch, unfortunately, the moment is thrown away and never gives the audience any
History repeats itself in a somewhat cyclical pattern. Possessing a broad knowledge of what has happened in the past, and what is happening presently, allows a person to understand what is coming next. The history channel is a very popular network in America, and globally for that matter. Astounding amounts of people learn the entirety of their historical knowledge from the history channel. Thus, what gets aired has a direct influence on what these people know, and what their influences are. This network not only has its own series of informational programs, it broadcasts–as well as creates—documentaries and historical films. These films range from interviews with veterans of World War II to documentaries on ancient Egypt. Of course, one type of show attracts more viewers than another show. Furthermore, one show attracts a completely different demographic of viewers than another show in another genre.
