Hate: A word millions of people work to abolish every day. Posters and signs are posted on school walls and other numerous places to influence people to not hate. However, how would a world without hate be? How can we rid abomination of one another from this planet? Millions including myself have wondered how to answer these questions, and after hours of thinking, I have my own insight on how a non-hateful world would be and how to eliminate hate from Earth. Hundreds of thousands of millions of us have wondered and revered the idea of a hate-free society. I believe a realm without hatred would feel non-hostile and at peace, for no hate leads to no war, fights, quarrels, or anything similar, thus leading to people feeling at peace with themselves and others. In addition, knowing we are at peace with others causes us to feel right and just, therefore righteous. To add on to the idea of a domain without distastefulness, the domain would sound like a upbeat, tranquil utopia. Civilians would talk and act happily while keeping peace with each other. …show more content…
As much as we would welcome a hate-free community, we need to put in a great deal of work in order fulfill that wish. First, we must reflect on some actions of hate, such as the Holocaust, discrimination, racism, and so on. Next, we should meditate persistently on how to not let any of the actions of hate keep on going. For instance, we can think of ways to not let anti-Semitism keep occurring. Finally, after we reflect on ways to not despise each other, we should act on it by influencing other people and districts to sway from abhorring our own race. With that, we would be much closer to a community without animosity and hostility towards one another. Despite the fact that in order to create a hate-free society, we must exert a large amount of effort, this goal is achievable and should be an intention for all of us to
Throughout History our world has seen societies which have risen to power and publicity through pure hatred and suffering of others. Our past could yet, reveal the answer to the question, “Can a society based on hate and suffering survive?”. The most powerful and controversial of these societies will be mentioned and with hope, put an end to our uncertainty. The German Reich, modern day North Korea, Al-Qaeda, and the Ku Klux Klan. These listed had based their societies on hate, suffering, or both, which they have marked themselves forever in history.
Martin Luther King Jr. declared, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that” ( citation ) . Many people feel as Mr. King did, that love can fight hate, and ultimately love is the answer, the fixer, to this figurative darkness. The word’s love and hate express a strong and perhaps intense feeling for something or someone. However, these intense emotions are commonly used in opposition of each other. It is crucial, though, to note that these powerful emotions can easily cross lines and become blurred. Evidence of this claim is supported by Rempel and Burris’ “...Integrative Theory of Love and Hate,” which outlines what it means to love and what it means to hate, and how humans
Many times in the world, differences have lead to hate. Think of Martin Luther King, for example, who stood for fighting against one of the largest differences. A Separate Peace, by John Knowles, is one of many examples of differences leading to hate. Gene and Finny, who somehow managed to become friends, have completely different views of each other. Finny wanted to be friends with Gene, but had trouble facing the reality that Gene felt differently. Gene became jealous over Finny’s difference to himself. Difference has led to hate, once more, and pain has again resulted, first mentally and emotionally, then finally physically.
You would be lying to yourself if you thought that an attempt of a society based solely on hate has not tried to survive throughout our human history. A totalitarian society is defined as a centralized government that doesn’t tolerate parties with differing opinion and that exercises dictatorial control over many aspects of life. There have been various attempts to design a totalitarian type of government, but all have failed for more than one reason. A society based solely on hate can’t survive due to the obstacles of freethinkers and challenges of forcing an emotion like hate on people would destroy the society slowly from the inside out.
People may consider a world of sameness as boring and predictable although in reality the idea of sameness has a very comprehensible idea behind it. By introducing sameness, one massive leap is taken towards a perfect society. Sameness completely erases racism and discrimination. Racism is a troubling issue that effects the lifestyle of many on a daily basis. No matter the extents we go to in educating people, careless strangers have the guts to consistently make rude remarks to others living in the same ‘community.’ In the giver physical differences are removed and
The Free Speech Movement (FSM) at the University of California at Berkeley started during the fall of 1964. (Freeman, Jo) But there were many events leading up to this point. The Free Speech Movement began to obtain momentum in the fall of 1963 and the spring of 1964 the Bay Area was rocked with the civil rights demonstrations against employers who practiced racial discrimination. (Freeman, Jo) These students believed that this was wrong and felt the need to do something about it. So many Berkeley students were recruited for these protests from Bancroft and Telegraph which where the companies that were racial discriminating against races and groups of people.(Freeman, Jo) With these protest there were many arrest made of Berkeley students there were about 500 arrests made over several months. In conclusion, there may not be any way to fully stop the hatred that has been going on for centuries, but we can at least try working for a better future by looking at the mistakes of the past and the
As long as there are people, there will be hate and as long as there is hate there will be murder.
Although the Klan is not as relevant today, this particular group still makes an appearance. A positive aspect that would come from banning hate speech would be that as a nation we would no longer see such hatred towards beliefs or heritages. The Ku Klux Klan would not be able to burn crosses as an intimidation tactic or rally together to discriminate any specific

The world is full of interesting, counterintuitive dualities. Some of these are physical, others more emotional. Light and dark, beginning and end, love and hate. But that last duality, love and hate, is a bit confusing, because not only do they rely on each other to exist, but they always exist hand in hand. Or do they? I argue that they only exist side by side when hate is present. But that is not the only component of hate. Hate is a mix of love and fear, with just a hint of anger mixed in. Romeo and Juliet has many cases of a variety of hate related instances.
Today we have looked at the problem known as hate crimes and the varied causes which keep it in existence. We have also discussed some solutions to this act of hate.
Fast spreading hate towards minority groups is a widespread problem in the world. There is so much that has been done to try and solve this issue, but so little has been achieved. It is up to each and every upcoming citizen of the world to recognize and understand this problem, in order to be able to solve it. So, how can these individuals acknowledge this problem? It could be as simple as addressing and solving this problem at Thoreau Middle School.
“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”― Nelson Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom
