Many people debate whether the Star Wars or Harry Potter series is better. My friends, my family, and even I debate it. The two series are very different, but many people still love them both. Some people have negative opinions about one or the other. Star Wars is about an ongoing war between light and dark. While Harry Potter is about magic and fighting evil. They have their differences in the details of the series. They have similarities in the plots of each series.
Since the first segment of the series was released in 1997, Harry Potter has been challenged by churches and parents due to the practicing of magic by children found within the books. The books have been removed from school shelves, discouraged by churches, and censored by parents. It is claimed that Harry Potter is devilish, satanic, and encourages children to practice the occult, damaging their religious views (LaFond). Therefore, many parents keep their children from reading the book series. Yet, Harry Potter has been such a positive influence on my so many lives. Evident through the movies, theme parks, stores, and much more, J.K. Rowling’s series has been an overwhelming success for many reasons (“Because it’s his…”). In order to encourage
When Harry is on the train to Hogwarts with his two best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, the train suddenly stops. The lights start to go out and the train becomes very cold. A Dementor has stopped the train. This causes Harry to faint and Professor Lupin revives him. The next day Harry has his first class, Divination. His teacher, Professor Trelawney, sees a Grim in the bottom of Harry’s cup. The Grim stands for death. His classes then carry on as usual for a little while. Then on Halloween night, Sirius Black breaks into the castle in search of Harry but doesn’t find him. After the holidays, Harry gets trained to fight the Dementors because they affect him the most. They affect him the most because of his past.
Ever since J.K. Rowling first introduced Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in 1997, children and adults have read and loved the series. It has gained such popularity that all of the books have been made into major motion pictures, and a Harry Potter attraction has been opened in Universal Studios, Florida. Though the readers love Rowling’s intricate and exciting story lines, many controversies have arisen from these stories, not only in the United States, but also in various countries around the world. Perhaps the biggest controversy is the religious implications perceived by some critics. Although these critics believe that the series promotes paganism and encourages evil actions, these theories should not be taken so seriously.
They get back home and Harry gets a letter from the Ministry of Magic that says because he used magic he is expelled (Harry is underage and underage wizards aren't supposed to use magic). He is horrified. He can't believe he was expelled. Hogwarts was the only good thing in his life. He then gets another letter that says he isn't expelled but that he has to go to a hearing.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was written by J. K. Rowling and is the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series. The book is about a seventeen-year-old wizard, named Harry Potter, who has to travel all over England to find things that will help him defeat the evil wizard, Lord Voldomort. The main theme/moral of the entire series is good will always triumphs over evil. In every book, even when it looks like evil is going to win, good always triumphs in the end.
Furthermore the accessibility of Harry Potter has changed over the past three decades with the introduction of the internet, e-books and audio books. Therefore it is clear to see that this popular culture is effected by not only the media but other technologies and has a very wide access on a global
Harry eventually learns that he narrowly escaped death because his parents, especially his mother Lily, were prepared to die for him because of their love for him. He was always Voldemort’s intended victim. His father, James, was killed trying to give his mother time to escape with their child. Harry Potter starts off slow, but gets very interesting near the end. In the beginning, you meet the Dursleys, Harry’s aunt, uncle, and their son Dudley. Then you learn that Harry’s parents were witches, and that they were destroyed by a evil wizard. A good witch, Albus Dumbeldoor, sends Harry to the Dursleys, because they’re his only remaining family. The Dursleys however, hated Harry and his family, so Harry was mistreated for years. He was forced to live in a cuborrod under the stairs. He had to watch as the fat, stuck up Dudley got whatever he wanted, and then usually broke whatever it was he got. Then one day Harry got a letter.
Harry Potter is perhaps the most important series of books in this generation. It has shapes the lives of countless children as it shaped mine. JK Rowling wrote the world that I lost myself in during my utterly terrible middle school years. But as I grew older I realized the glaring inadequacies of this world I loved so dearly. Some are just mild annoyances but others reveal problematic aspects of the Harry Potter universe and JK Rowling herself.
