001 Prologue: A woman was huddled in the corner of a house, a knife in one hand and a baby in another. The baby was crying, and there was a look of terror on the woman's face. Suddenly, a banging sound made the woman's head jerk up. An inhuman scream followed, causing the woman to grip the knife tighter. The door across from her rattled, the wood creaking and threatening to break. She runs to the door, pushing a chair against it. Hearing another scream from outside the door, she picks up her baby, wrapping her in a blanket and putting her under a floorboard. The door rattles even more, and the woman curses under her breath. The wood splinters and the woman stands protectively over the floorboard where her baby was under. Tears mixed with …show more content…
Placing it on her baby, she leans down and whispers, "I love you, Harper." Suddenly, a loud cracking noise fills the room, and the woman's head swings towards the door. A hand was sticking through the door. The hand wasn't a human hand, it was purple and green, and you could see every vein bulging out. All the color in her face seemed to drain away as the hand started to create a bigger hole in the door. Another inhuman scream echoed through the room. Knowing she didn't have much time left, she looks back at her baby, "Goodbye, Harper. I'll miss you." The woman closes the floorboard, but leaves a little crack so Harper could breath. The door splinters, then finally crashes down. A strange creature stood in the doorway. It almost looked human, but it's skin was wrinkled, all green and purple. Blood seeped out of where it's eyes should be. It had strands of hair, but they were matted down with stains of blood. The creature lunges for the woman and grabs a hold of her arm, yanking her to the floor. The woman kicks and struggles, but is able to stab the creature in the thigh making it scream and loosen its grip on her. The woman frees herself from the creatures and rolls away from
There was another knock, and another. The old woman with a sudden wrench broke free and ran from the room. Her husband followed to the landing, and called after her appealingly as she hurried downstairs. He heard the chain rattle back and the bottom bolt drawn slowly and stiffly from the socket. Then the old woman's voice, strained and panting.
Usually, their home is silent, but when one day the narrator suddenly hears something inside another part of the house, the siblings escape to a smaller section, locked behind a solid oak door. In the intervening days, they become frightened and solemn; on the one hand noting that there is less housecleaning, but regretting that the interlopers have prevented them from retrieving many of their personal belongings. All the while, they can occasionally hear noises from the other

Susie’s mother opened the door to let Molly, Susie’s babysitter, inside. Ten-month old Susie seemed happy to see Molly. Susie then observed her mother put her jacket on and Susie’s face turned from smiling to sad as she realized that her mother was going out. Molly had sat for Susie many times in the past month, and Susie had never reacted like this before. When Susie’s mother returned home, the sitter told her that Susie had cried until she knew that her mother had left and then they had a nice time playing with toys until she heard her mother’s key in the door. Then Susie began crying once again.
She enters the hall where the warriors are sleeping. They wake in time to ward off the attack with their swords but the monster manages to escape with one victim in her claws (this is Aeschere).

SCREECH! Subsequently, we were through the first and second door of the demonic horror land, eventually arriving at the gate of the third. Like transparent ghosts, we slid through the thick curtain as the doors repeatedly slammed behind us. A figure wrapped in linen cloth came chasing after us and I willed the vehicle to go faster, but it slowed against my control. Thus, I sat grasping the railing tightly in case something even horrid should rise unexpectedly through the depths of the floorboards. "I'm going to have nightmares!" My sister whimpered.
Before she opened the door, she asked, “Who is it?” But no one answered. A few seconds later there was another knock. Janine flung open the door, “What the...”
I can see a crack of light coming from under the bathroom door. I keep hearing a strange sound, almost like a hurt puppy. As I walk closer, I see a dark puddle on the floor. Suddenly, I am very afraid. I slowly open the door. “Mommy, Mommy, are you ok?” My mother looked at me and cried, “Dial 911, Darling! Hurry, Honey, Hurry!” There is so much blood—on the floor, on her clothes, and on her hands. I can hear the sirens now. Mommy goes for a ride in the ambulance. My three day old baby brother and I have to stay with the neighbor until Daddy comes and picks us up. What happened to my mother?
A new year had just arrived. I can still picture January in my mind, the mood was sullen and dark, I could feel the cold reaching my bones, but now I know that was the best feeling I‘d ever had. I had only a few weeks left to start college, which had been my dream since I can remember. My dad had already paid for my tuition, I was so exited I had promised to do my best. Then, I realized there was an obstacle in my way. I knew I needed to make a decision on whether or not keeping my pregnancy, it sounds rough, but it was definitive. I did not want to miss school, so I was definitely not taking this to the last term. I just could not think of myself being prostrated in bed for so long, as an impediment to start school. Never, nothing would make me give up on my dreams, and that was another promise I had made to myself.
Our eyes locked, as tears streamed down her sullen face. She was a petite woman with heavy dark eyes, revealing her struggle, her pain, and a hope for a better life. She cradled her infant gently, yet firmly as if it was her last breath. With every sway, she kissed her child’s head as a promissory note that she would take care of her and provide for her the world.
There was an impending doom coming to the small town of Calamity. Unbeknownst to the citizens it would come firstly upon a church on the outskirts of a town. A few people were inside as the doom came closer. Preacher Tom was the first one in the church to sees what would haunt the town and was scared out of his wits. He pushes a young woman out of the doorway as he speeds into the church. He continues to bar the door and close up all of the windows as the surprised group stares on at him with suspicion. He dropped to his knees and prayed as a loud noise echoed through the building. The crowd began to scream as the windows rattled and the building swayed. All of a sudden, a whimper could be heard from the back side of the building. The sound was unmistakable, it was the tiny voice of little Lisa Cunningham. Mrs. Hamm hobbled quickly over to the door before anyone else could react. She threw the door open as Father Ted finally came to his senses. Lisa flung herself through the door into the arms of Mrs. Hamm. Father Ted lunged for the door and slammed his shoulder into it right before an unknown force bashed against the other side. Mrs. Hamm grasped the child as and attempted to console her as a sharp pain erupted in her breast. She looked down and saw a dark stain growing on her blue dress and jerked the child away. Everyone’s eyes went wide as they saw the scene unfolding before them. Lisa stood smiling; face covered in blood, and began to laugh hysterically. Mrs. Hamm was becoming hysterical as well, as she noticed that one side of her chest had become smaller than the other as a huge chunk had been bitten away by the child.
... young woman with pure white skin, her eyes bleeding from the corners with the black hair I had seen earlier matted and tangled across her face, mouth contorted into a silent and terrifying scream. Still the TckTckTckTckTck noise sounded from the open mouth. I fell away with great haste from the window and threw shut the curtains behind me. I slept not even slightly for almost all of that night. instead I curled up in the middle of the room with my head in my hands, listening to the chilling noise of the TckTckTckTck sounding from just outside my window.
