When examining the many complicated relationships between the characters in the multiple batman universes, the relationship between Harley Quin and Poison Ivy in “Batman: The Animated Series,” specifically in the episode titled “Harley and Ivy,” is the one I found most fascinating. The personal backstories that they both have as individuals is already fascinating, but as their stories intertwine, things get even more intriguing. The two female villains officially meet for the first time in this episode, they join forces and become the “queens of crime,” while also opening the show, and TV industry, up to the queer audience. I would argue that in this episode they even go as far as addressing the urgent need for positive representation and acceptance

The hero was Sydney Carton and the bad people were probably the revolutionaries, Madame Defarge and Monsieur Defarge. In the movie The Dark Knight Rises innocents, were also killed but in several different ways. In this movie, the bad guy was Bane and his accomplices, and the hero was Batman.

A man went into a movie screening of Batman The Dark Knight Rises. He had colored his hair red. He told the police he was the joker. During this crime this man killed at least twelve people. He also injured fifty-eight more people. One victim stated, " nearly everyone was shot." Out of the twelve victims ten died inside the movie theater. The myth of redemptive violence is a common theme in comic books and other media today, especially in America. Superheroes are the ones who usually use redemptive violence in their stories to develop their characters. It is not surprising that that even villains are made to follow this trope to develop their characters. Harley Quinn is a villain who first appeared in “Batman: The Animated Series.” She became quite popular and it is no surprise that fans want to see her character development. While she is becoming her own person in comic books, she often must use violence to bring order to her chaotic life.

There is a guilty pleasure one gets from watching characters we identify with struggle on screen, and we begin to think to ourselves that maybe our lives aren’t so bad after all. Such is the case in Bruce Almighty, a new release from Universal Pictures directed by Tom Shadyac. The movie is by no means sensational or groundbreaking, but it has an irresistible charm that draws in viewers in desperate need of a break from reality. The unfortunate protagonist (Jim Carrey) becomes convinced that God has abandoned him after he loses a coveted news anchor position to a slimy coworker. God (Morgan Freeman) grants Bruce his heavenly powers and challenges him to do a better job, pointing out that “…Gandhi only lasted a week!”

We all have heard of Spider Man. He was the average teenager until he was bitten by a radioactive spider. I like Spider Man but I believe there are a lot of things missing in his movies. The police and government are portrayed poorly, as to assisting Spider Man or lack there of. Spider Man goes about doing his own thing, outside of the law. He is something we can all relate to and I believe that is why a lot of people like him. Most people would say they want to be like Spider Man because of his cool super human powers. I believe it would be a lot of hard work, dedication, and a lot of responsibility. Think about this, you would have two lives to live as a completely different person. You would have to keep up good grades, make some money to live on, support your family in one life, then save people, fight crime, and kill villains in the other life.
