Hamlet is a perfect example of a Shakespearean Tragedy. A Shakespearean Tragedy is when a tragic character is forced upon a situation and then makes a choice that leads him to his doom. The major character, Hamlet, who lives in Denmark, is trying to avenge his father's death by getting back at his uncle. Hamlets trust is broken with almost with almost everyone which causes more deaths. He chooses to try and hurt his uncle, but doesn't have any self control and goes crazy and causes many bad things to happen. The loss of self control is shown when Hamlet gets way to excited about proving his uncle is guilty at the play, “O good Horatio the ghost is truthful!” After the trust is broken he chooses wrong and loses his self control, he gets himself …show more content…

As the Prince of Denmark, Hamlet is very noble, courageous, intelligent, personable and respected. Hamlet was noble of world and character when he went to Prince school and learned about diplomacy, battle, weaponry, geography, history, and different languages. Hamlet is very confident, confidence is a key to being prince, but to much confidence becomes pride. Hamlet wants to be king and serve his country, this turn to ambition to be better than his uncle. The Ghost was truthful to Hamlet about Claudius killing him. At first, Hamlet wants to serve him justice, later that justice turns to vengeance and Hamlet only wants to expose him. King Claudius can also be blamed for Hamlet's downfall. The ghost influences Hamlet, “ the serpent that did sting thy father's life now wears his crown.” Hamlet takes responsibility of his flaws and begs forgiveness from Laertes for killing his father, Laertes forgives him. Hamlet's fate is too harsh because he is trying to avenge his father's death and stand up for his family, this leads to getting many people killed, including himself. Hamlets chance at the throne is delayed due to his mother's new marriage. The plot pattern arouses fear and pit is the characters because murder is always an option. It arouses fear and pity in the audience because the protagonists fate is unknown. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern arouse fear and pity is the characters and audience. Before anything bad happens to the king and Hamlet, Hamlet's initial fate is to become king. The initial fate is reversed when Hamlet tries to avenge the former king's death. Hamlet's sudden urge to get revenge leads to, “ I may sweep to my revenge.” Hamlet is in full control and he acts insane after finding out about his father so he can do whatever he wants around the castle and he will be left alone. He feels he must be king to continue on his father's legend. The turning point in the play is when Hamlet starts acting
