Gun control is a leading concern in America today. Recent shootings and murders today have people scared and pushing forward for gun control acts. In my opinion there should not be gun control acts on any guns besides automatic guns because, automatic guns should strictly be for military use only. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people. Many people push for gun control, but the effects of gun control are too severe. In this paper I claim to tell about the reasons why someone would push for gun control and the negative effects resulted by gun control.

First of all gun control laws come about because guns are scary to most. Therefore, it is highly wanted and pushed by different sorts of methods. For example; boycotting the selling of guns is one method. The look of a gun brings fear to many people. People act like the use of a gun is primarily for killing and crimes but, in reality guns are used for hunting, hobbies, and many clubs. There are many types of guns that can be purchased. There are handguns, rifles, shot guns, semi-automatic, automatic, and many more. Some purchased legally and some not so legal. These all bring fear to the anti-gun enthusiasts and, they think the guns are purchased because the buyer will use it in a crime.

In the eyes of the individuals that do not support guns and push for gun control, think that ultimately a gun will be used in some sort of crime. The purchaser will either kill somebody, rob a bank, or trespass in a school and commit a heinous crime. Statistics do support that gun violence is a problem. “More than 30,000 people are killed by firearms each year in this country and, 30 people are shot and murdered each day” (USA Gun Violence Statistics). But can we blame ...

...ase. It is true that more than 30,000 people are killed from guns each year but, it is also true that gun control laws only cause more murders and fatalities. Gun control effects hunters, outdoorsman, clubs, and most importantly the safety of American citizens. The effects of gun control range from the loss of food to the safety of American families. Gun control would cause a slippery slope situation. Though people think gun control is a good thing the effects will show to be too severe.
